I like Mike Fisher as a 3C but I also think he's a stay in Nashville or retire guy. He's like Tom Brady in the sense that his wife makes way more than he does, and her livelihood is tied to Nashville. - Victoro311
It would be a good story with Bonino and Fisher exchanging teams. I'd give him an offer of $2-2.5M for sure. Cullen would have to come back to make this even better. |

Brooks Laich has sucked for years. None of the guys you just mentioned play center. Helm is also horrendous. - Victoro311
Aston-Reese has played @ C before according to some here. Anyway it would be a try out.
Forgot Archibald got a one-way deal too so add him to the mix of wingers. Wilson-Reaves-Archibald-Rowney would be fighting for spots assuming we signed Fisher/Cullen. |

Those guys aren't worth a 1st...maybe a 2nd. We could have just signed jokinen for a similar player. They are something between good 4c to average 3c. Rutherford maybe just blew the 4c position this year. We had equal options to what we are discussing in free agency which didn't include giving up draft capital. I always thought trading a wing for a center was the way to go in order to get a really good 3c (low end 2c to above average 3c) but nothing materialized and the best buy cheap deals/signings are gone. Have to wait for mid-season retooling now. - sditulli
We can still trade a wing for a center - plenty of offseason yet to go.
But who do you target for a trade and which winger do you give up? Seems like every deal has drawbacks of one sort or another. That's why I think picks/prospects to Vegas is the best route. Maybe Jersey would do the same for Johansson, but he makes more so then we're tight against the cap if/when Dumo and Sheary sign. |

Hey Feds is Helm that bad right now? I know his salary sucks but he used to be a good player. - Barnaby36
Problem is his term and the role they give him. |

Dumo asked for 4.35 mil...Pens offered 1.95 mil. My god, 4.35 mil seems about 2 mil too high to me. |

He wants #2 money even though he's not a real #2. I think he's a 3mil player at the very, very most. I'd be trading him if he gets 4.35 and he might be difficult to move at that salary. 15pts last year on a high scoring team....offense dies a slow, painful death on his stick. His agent is out of his mind. |
