So, Michael Phelps raced a great white shark.

Don't know the outcome, but if you could actually convince the shark to swim as fast as he could, there's no way a human could swim faster than a great white.

I think you do

Exactly... long playoff runs are based on health of the team at that point really. But we can't let that get in the way of a false narrative.

I can definitely say the Kerr and Lindros injuries probably stopped two cup wins.

I firmly believe if Desjardins had stayed healthy in 2004 among other players, the Flyers would've won the Cup.

I'd pay money to see a great white shark eat Ryan Lochte.

Phelps seems like a guy who would make sure every precaution was taken. Lochte seems like the guy who would just jump in for a few thousand dollars.

I would've loved to see a healthy Bernie Parent in '76 against Montreal. The Parent-Dryden battle would've been great.

Having Rick Macleish for that series would have made a huge difference too. The first 3 games in that series were all extremely close 1 goal games

What did Washington get for Johansson?

That was discussed after the quoted post.

Okay so that deal shows that 2 first round picks is not an automatic price for a player of that caliber. Realistically its probably somewhere in between.

are there any Patrick updates? Did he skate today? How's his infection?

The Flyers also didn't get $4.5+ in cap space, which the Caps desperately needed. The Caps were up against a wall, the Flyers were not.

Speaking of brain cramps....

I was trying to submit a time off request today. We do it via outlook appointments so I went in to do a recurring appointment for the 3 days I wanted off instead of setting it for 3 days I set it for every third day the rest of the year.

Yeah, I have since came to that conclusion.

At the time of Schenn's departure, I thought it was pretty fair deal. I didn't really compare the two trades until today to be honest. The diversity between the trades is great example of how teams value certain things over others.

Interestingly, I read he's getting his facial transplant from Brad Marchand.

There's a number of factors involved. It's not as if NJ was taking on dead cap weight. I think the Blues overpaid for Schenn which was the only reason they were able to acquire him in my opinion. I believe that Washington made a terrible deal in the return they received for Johansson.

I read today he wanted to do it without a cage or something? I believe a shark can top out at 25 mph. Good luck with that Phelps
