For the Matta talk I keep reading, just remember who our head scout is. He brought him to London so he probably loves him.
Also if we trade bozak people keep saying nylander to centre,, I personally think he should stay a winger at his size, dispite the skill... people forget marleau has been a 52-55 % face off man and komo can play it too. If komo can consistently be a 50% guy then I think he would be a great shut down centre

Actually I ment that Larkin should of been centered with Tatar! You were saying Winnipeg wanted him for trouba! Ah no I'd pass!Trouba would be a great addition to the wings but it would be a big sideways move imho!

Hey NP man I knew what you ment! it's all good! ,and how YOU doing?

If the leafs were to go that route I guess that we trust their decision? But I don't like it my self! Been watching way too franking long!Lol to know how sideways things can get! One injury two? Then they'll be no replacement for center! One minute your deep at center! The next your deep in shat! Huge risk! matta we have! another RH dman we don't! But if bozac is gone then is he worth more with a year, or a desperate team with injury? At the deadline

Meh, I see it the other way tbh. If they trade for him then I'm confident they know what they are doing.

It's the same with marner 2 years ago. If they picked marner they were confident in what they were getting and have the edge because hunter saw him all along. If they picked hanifin then they knew marner might not be as good as others thought.

Either way I trust what this management does now. I feel like I don't have to second guess everything they do.

With 95 pts, if we had McElhinney from the start of the season we finish ahead of Boston (95 pts) and quite possibly Ottawa (98 pts).

I'm not worried.

We also had a league leading 14 overtime losses.

Good post! and yes that could be just the case of the devil you know in matta if it's him and if the report is accurate? And bozak is leaving either way! ..no a side note could you imagine that then they trade for phanuef and the old gang is together, and then come February an 18 wheeler goes flying off the cliff and they crash and burn! Please Luo get their 1st round pick no lottery protected included!

Yeah, even if we lose some players to injuries and slumps, leafs still had a bunch of negatives last year. OT losses, shootout losses, blown 1,2,and 3 goal leads. Not to mention enroth lost every start he played.

Yup, that and our shootout record can only improve. It's possible, but I highly doubt that we'll be leaving that many points on the table the season.

If we even went .500 in shootouts we're second in the division.

Realistically when Curt M(because I can't spell his last name lol) came to the leafs, he did his job. He kept us in most games. I remember one bad game but other then that he played well for a back up and was more then less reliable. He helped us with a certain important game to boot if every one remembers.
Sure if Anderson goes down long term will he hold the fort? More then likely not. He's paid to play 15-25 games at most. Would the leafs trade for a goalie to save the season? Let's be real, no they won't if it hurts the future. And I mean trading a high pick or good prospects... minor stuff sure. For once in the past 10 years we can actually trust management and they're sticking to their word. Grow the young guns together while having some important veterans to teach them( not like Edmonton pre mcdavid.
People have been impatient thinking the rebuilds done because how good they did... but really to babs and management this is only the beginning still.
That comment is for the goalie situation someone commented on. When it comes for a good young d help, I'm for making a package for a proven young guy. Rather that then a draft pick that you don't know anything about

{ ps, what are Saturdays for?}

A good way of looking at it is this.
We know Curtis is about a .46 pts earned/available pts goalie. If he can slightly improve to play .500 hockey and plays 20 games, we could probably get 20 points.
That leaves Andersen with 62 games.
Playoffs are generally 96 pts to clinch so in 62 games (124 pts avail) Andersen needs to get us 76 points or 61.3% of available points.
Last year, Andersen got 80 points in 66 games, which is slightly less.

However, this is after Andersen missed the preseason with injury, had the rough start in October/November, and had the head injury twice last year.

It will be close if he repeats his performance.

I guess we are officially at the point in the off-season, were there is so little happening that the bloggers have reverted to writing up alarmist fluff about all the bad stuff that might happen, due to lack of material.
