Just my opinion...

Anyone having Drake on the top line is delusional. And Drai still has not shown he can be the man on his own line. I believe Drai will be back on McJesus' wing and Nuge will be line 2 C. So trading him makes no sense to me. That limits the options severely. If you trade Nuge then you are forcing Mc D and Drai as 1 and 2 C because without Nuge there is no other option at 2 C. And if anyone says Strome I'll punch them in the face

Atleast going into this year we have more options and depth at center. I think Drai will probably split the year playing on McDavids wing and 2C. But with the additions of Strome and Jokinen that gives us more options for 3C. This hopefully will allow Nuge to move up on McDavid's wing when Drai plays 2C and one of Strome and Jokinen can play 3C.

Nuge needs a jump start to his offense and who better to help and build some confidence. Also if Chia is thinking of moving Nuge next off season it probably wouldn't hurt him getting some time with McDavid and boosting up his stats.

Why is this suddenly a thing?! Draisaitl, Strome, Slepeshev, the fan sitting in section 201 row 12 seat 6, Puljujarvi, Jokinen.... those are 6 names that I would put with McDavid over Caggiula.

I really miss the journalistic style of Richard Cloutier. That man was the perfect blend of James Tanner and Matthew Barry.

While there are technically more options at center, neither jokinen nor strome are best suited for center in the show.. or at least haven't shown that.


Who knows what happens this year, but the fact is the only significant change that occurred to the team was chiarelli dumped salary for a lesser proven player.
And signed journeymen jussi jokinen.

The blog is mostly Dim witted and we're not dealing Nuge just so we can have a more traditional 3c.
But the fact remains that there's a ton of question marks around this team.
Need most of slep, cagg, puju and strome to have successful years or we're pretty much cooked.
And talbot to have another stellar year.
And one of nurse/benning to be ready to play top 4 mins.
And the defence to stay heathy at least until Reggie returns.


Pc didn't really add anything close to a slam dunk to insulate or add to a squad that only made it to the 2nd round last year.
It feels like those posters who seem to be supremely confident are just assuming everything goes how we hope.

I dont agree with having Nuge on Mcd's wing but I would like to see him get more time on the number one PP with McD. Everytime he got that opportunity he produced. Drai and Lucic had their numbers greatly inflated by getting that opportunity. Nuge didn't.
