Jets are so close to being a great team they really don't need to make a move. Better goaltending will get them in the playoffs - Danformo
Only problem is the Central division just became the toughest division in hockey with all the off season moves. Yes the Jets will be a much improved team but so will Dallas and Nashville. Chicago took a small step backwards but still has a very tough team, same with St. Louis. Minny also looked very strong until the playoff came along. The only wallflower is Colorado. If I were to make a prediction for 2018 it might look like this ( with some slight home bias of course)
1) Nashville
2) Dallas
3) Winnipeg
4) Chicago (wild card)
5 ) St. Louis (wild card)
6) Minnesota
7) Colorado
There will be no wild card spot for the Pacific this year. Only Calgary and Edmonton have improved and they plus Anaheim will be the only ones playoff bound in that division. |

I hope so but quite frankly Nashville will be even stronger this year so they will be the ones to beat. I could probably coin flip the positions of the other four teams that I predicted to make it to the playoffs. So many one goal games these days. |

Hmm so if it's tougher of a division with more games played against each other wouldn't it be harder for teams to get enough points for wild card?
Plus someone won't be WILD over the standings.

It's a complete toss up this year for the central. Any team outside of Colorado can make the playoffs. I still don't think Dallas does either.
I think it goes:
1. Blues
2. Wild
3. Jets
4. Nash
5. Hawks, Hawks miss by a pt.
