Glad hes come to terms with not only the Rangers but also his hair line.

You can afford a lot of hair plugs for the money he is making

Indeed. Although I think he is in for a rough ride. He seems to be penciled in on the first pairing, and if (when) he struggles with that I think he is going to be their Eric Brewer.

Agreed. McD and Shatty will be the most overrated top pair in the league. However I suspect that before too long Shatty will be getting second or third pair minutes at 5 on 5.

The more I look at the situation, the more I am believing the plan may be to wait to make a longer term deal, mostly due to the cap situation. If the Blues sign a 2 year deal, Parayko is still a RFA at the end of it I believe and they would be re-upping him when Jaybo and Gunnarsson are off the books.

It also gives them more flexibility to supplement the roster to be a contender in the next two seasons. Maybe this is the plan?

5x5.5m. Parayko is worth that, and glad we locked up 2 years of UFA, but was really hoping for a 7 or 8 year deal.

Great deal. He is easily worth it. Just hoped it would have been a 7-8 year deal. Oh well.

Avoided arbitration and possibly damaging the relationship!!!

I'll take it

If the Blues are signing him to 5+ years, it will likely be 5.5 to 6.5 IMO depending on the length.

5.5 x 5 years
5.75 x 6 years
6 x 7 years
6.5 x 8 years

I'm ok with all of these. Come on Doug! Let's make a long term deal.

Agree. Parayko's smart not to sign longer. He might be worth twice the contract amount by then.

Good deal for both sides. i consider him the second best player on the Blues' roster very soon if not this season.

Good Call!

I share the sentiment of the others who would have preferred 7x6 but hey still not a bad deal by any stretch.

any chance we see a trade involving Gunnar?

I know Army suggested that one of the kids would get a serious look with the big club next year

Sure would be nice to have that happen

Considering our AHL conundrum

Even with Gunnar Blues have a roster spot left open for whichever prospect plays best in camp.

Great deal! I posted either that I thought it would be a round 5.2 or more, so 5mil is great!and you fans should be very happy to know this kid is going to be a beast for the next few years on that blue line! what's next for the blues to add to their line up?or are they done looking for now?

If a prospect isn't good enough to take ice time away from Gunnar or Bortuzzo, they need to be in the pressbox or AHL.

And even if Blues trade Gunnar, you still have a prospect sitting in the pressbox.
