Yeah, definitely don't open it inside, decomp gets into carpet/rugs and your couch, curtains, mattresses and it will never come out. Trust me. That smell will never leave you. Months of airing out won't get rid of it.

Go and buy Lysol and spray it around the seal. It should help anything more from seeping out, but you've got some smelly times ahead of you. Probably going to have wash whatever clothes you left there a hundred times too.
