Just like basic points don't tell the whole story - sbroads24
I agree
But basic points do tell what they've done in the role they've been used
They don't speculate what a guy might do in a different role
That's my issue with what u were saying
Maybe Sam's points would go down bc he's not with Jack?
Maybe they'd be better against weak competition?
Maybe if he were at Center his assists would go up bc he'd presumably have the puck more & be in a better spot to use his playmaking skills?
All of those scenarios seem reasonable to me
The only thing that doesn't seem reasonable is presuming to KNOW how he'd do in that role
And especially not compared to another guy on a different team

That's the thing though.
I wouldn't call a guy who only puts up 47 points on the 1st line and first PP unit, a lot better better than someone who put up 26 or whatever on the 3rd line.
They both played their respective roles quite similarly
Again, if I'm picking today, I'm picking Reinhart over Bennett, but I think it's going to be closer in the coming years

Maybe if Bennett can succeed as a top6 winger
I guess when I say they haven't been close,
It's not only that Reinhart has significantly outscored Bennet
But he's also played well enough to be in the top6,
& Bennett hasn't been able to stick there when given his chances
Also...
I've said many times that I do think Sam's assists would go up as a 3C
And his points would be better
But in all fairness,
That's SPECULATION on my part
See...
I'm not impossible
I hold myself to the same standards I hold u to
If that's all you said, I wouldn't have posted the pic.
But you said:
I think they'll be much better, much more entertaining. still think they're a move away from any real shot at the playoffs.
What your doing is called fly-specking. and it's generally considered to be disingenuous. - Der Kaiser
what you're doing is called assuming which is a you problem. That point was not meant to be disingenuous. I just believe thats the ceiling of this team as of right now. I think they lack one more piece for me to comfortably say they can challenge teams in the wildcard or for that last division playoff spot. It is entirely possible they make another add in the next 6 months that takes them over the top.
