To be fair, I am in a good mood today because of a promotion.
My employer is incredibly impressed with how much I hate Evander Kane - sbroads24

Reinhart produce on O'Reilly's wing as well
And it's not like Bennett is playing with scrubs,
He just hasn't been good
I get that u prefer a certain skill set over others,
but so far...
there's no arguing who the better Sam is
Not even close - jdfitz77
It's actually a lot closer than people think.
Bennett is played in a primarily 3rd line role.
Reinhart has played with Eichel and ROR as his centers for two years.
At this point Reinhart is better, but it will be a lot closer if they decide to actually give Bennett PP time |

To a degree... yes, they do
You don't just use your lower half to battle for the puck...
do u?
That's what I thought |

my thoughts exactly. he has some sick handle as seems to be extremely shifty as well. the need for tons of strength isnt there with a player of his nature. like was said a minute ago,"theres room for a lot of different kinds of players in the nhl," yet people cant seem to get over this magical 'needs to get stronger' mantra with every player these days. |

Not sure, we had a Skype interview last week. Then they emailed me right away with info about their library and someone else I could send questions to. I asked about their library in the interview that went for about an hour and a half.
They seem to be poking and prodding me to ask them questions which I don't really like to do until I get a job offer. I mean, I don't like to act like I have the job unless I have it. I can do my own due diligence and not get the happy feely answers. |

Or Bennett hasn't played good enough to deserve PP time
Meanwhile, Sam has been good on the league's #1 PP
It's not really that close
Bennett isn't getting Reinhart' opportunities bc he's been disappointing |

and every great player ever was a puck battler? find space, let the play happen around you, react to it, finish when the time comes. i dont know if i necessarily want to rely on my best players "battling for pucks" all the time either. its part of the game but not all of it, not even by a longshot. nobody is saying it doesnt help, its just not as paramount (bordering on total certainty) as you seem to make it out to be. you cant fix stupid and you cant teach natural ability. |

Bennett had 9 5 on 5 goals and 21 5 on 5 points on the 3rd line
Reinhart had 8 5 on 5 goals and 30 5 on 5 points on our 1st line
The biggest difference is PP.
Bennett hasn't been great, but opportunity is a big part of it.

from what i read he's got a pretty good set up. sheltered role, lower quality of competition. You'd think given his talent level hed be able to produce enough to earn that opportunity. |

Or because he actually plays center, and plays behind 2 really good top 6 centers.
Put Reinhart at center behind Eichel and ROR and he has similar numbers |

He's small and he's not very physical. Granted, I don't watch a ton of Flames games, but you don't seem him initiating contact very much.
And on the other hand you have small guys who do. St Louis, and even Ennis and Gerbe threw their weight around and were all very strong, especially in the legs. |

When did I say "every great player ever was a puck battler?"
Go ahead... I'll wait
Find space, huh?
In today's NHL, with all the interference & clutching & grabbing, etc?
Yeah...
you're making it sound so easy to do
I also never said "I want to rely on my best players battling for pucks"
Again, making a leap from what I said & putting words in my mouth
But it is hockey...
there are puck battle ALL THE TIME
And when my skilled guys do have the puck...
they need to be STRONG ENOUGH to not get knocked off it
This is literally the dumbest convo I've ever had
Again... not saying he needs to bench 250
But there's NO DOUBT that he needs to get stronger |

But u don't necessarily need to play physical to be strong
And Strong is a relative term
I don't expect that Middelstadt will need to be like Bailey
But just like Sam & Nylander needed to get stronger...
so does Mittelstadt
Idk why this is even a discussion?
It's very obvious
And not even a dig at him
Just something he needs to work on |

Pure speculation
And Bennett has played wing in the top6
He's been knocked down to mostly 3rd line bc of his play
Couldn't u make the argument that Bennett should be producing MORE on the 3rd line going up against lesser talent?
