id be a little concerned if it came in at 2.8 or 2.9. would rank him somewhere in the bottom 5 of starting goalies

I agree. I think he could be on Jacks wing by the end of the season potentially
- MCGUIZZY

he's definitely a one and done and will probably see nhl time as part of his agreement to sign right after college season ends.

question is how much if any time does he get in the AHL.

I predict he'll have a good year.

btw, henrik, halak, miller, MAF and Cory Schneider all over 2.8 in 16/17

I would not sign him if he does not have a year like Keller
let him stay one more year in college

yea none of them had a good year by their standards. Thats why Cordell's gotta put out an article defending him.

if a top 10 talent cant produce on a team like minnesota we've got bigger problems than when we sign him

Elliotte Friedman ✔ @FriedgeHNIC
STL has asked for a two-year deal on Parayko at $3.4M and $3.6M. He is asking for one year at $4.85. Still time for settlements.

I know we won't...
but break out the offer sheet!!!

Not saying its going to happen but i think its way more plausible than him being traded away anytime soon. i am excited to go to a couple UofM games this year and seeing him play in person. His handle is ridiculous...glad we drafted a lefty this year.

im not a fan but i wouldnt expect him to get dealt anytime soon either. i just wouldnt rule it out.

At some point they'll have to make tough decisions. might be reinhart or nylander too.

i didnt like the pick at first either but there has to be a reason why he was ranked so high especially playing where he did last year. would have been a lot easier and safer to not scout him so highly but they all did. if he was a few months younger he would have played a year of college hockey before the draft and he might be viewed a little more favorably than he is now. i am now excited to see how good he is.

I know that ppl said roughly the same thing about Hurley when he was drafted & going to Notre Dame

Not that I expect Mittelstadt to be a bust...
but all this "1 & done talk" might be a bit too much
Especially if he doesn't get MUCH stronger

Hopefully they use Reinhart for an example & really impress upon the kid that he has some serious weight training to do

the talent/hands are obviously there. i just question whether it all comes together...at the level that most are expecting.

yeah i dont project him as a bust or anything like that either. The one and done thing im basing off what he said. I mean he didnt use those exact words but it sounded a lot like he was going to spend the year in minnesota and then sign an ELC.

somewhat agreed, except hurley was selected 38th overall. dont think anyone is saying he WILL be a one and done just that he might be that good, might be the best in college this year. also i think strength is becoming somewhat overrated these days especially for a player of his nature. the game can be played without needing to be overly strong... deception, speed and handle along with the ability to find space is where this guy should earn his money not throwing his weight around.

Of course that's his goal...
I want him confident enough to say he can play in the NHL next year
Just might not be accurate

I'm not saying at all that he necessarily needs to be throwing his weight around
But he does have to be strong enough to win puck battles & not be easily knocked off the puck

He definitely needs to hit the gym hard
I'd be surprised to see him playing for us next year
Rochester, maybe

define significant. I think they'll be much better, much more entertaining. still think they're a move away from any real shot at the playoffs.

I think we have a shot at the playoffs. Albeit a small one.
