I had the same thought but word is that he still wants to be paid btw $5-6 Mill, which would be almost as bad as signing Marleau to a 6+

Before you do though, you should look at your own 22 million in horrible contracts still on the books when Karlsson needs to be re-signed.

By comparison, Marleau is only possibly a problem for 1 year, and only for 6+ million. The other 2 years are not a problem.

Marleau's shot totals are going down and the reason he was able to still score so many goals was due to his shooting % going up. Had it been what it has the precious 2 or 3 years he would have been around 20 goals 40 points. Do you think he will be able to maintain his point totals at his age?

I think Hyman was near the top of the league in high danger scoring opportunities, playing the role Marleau is likely to play.
