Heard it here 1st...

VGK, Av's, NJD, Wings all finish below us.
Yotes will give us a good run but we underperform them for 27th.

- Nighthawk

I think Yotes could be better than we think the year.

Vantel4U ?

Joki traded to the sens for lazar ...parsons looks like a stud in net .... Russell is not very good either ...but he loves to block shots ...and the shink trade was two ahl bums swapped ...what a terrible GM ...flames are doomed

- Redmile247

don't forget the 2nd rd pick
and the swap of 2 bums kostka/joki

I think we will finish above VGK/COL/WINGS

I think we will finish around the same spots as the devils/jets/yotes.

I am not confident on where I think VAN will end up but I think Vegas will be better than VAN. In net they are much better, their D is marginally worse than VAN and they have some wildcard game breakers up front.

I do think they are in the same tier as COL and DET, though both are capable of being better that they have shown

Although I do think Van will suck, I think Vegas will be Colorado bad. Horrific roster.

They are definitely built similarly. Some flashy guys up front, poor D, and hot/cold goaltending. I just think they will carry some inaugural season momentum (particularly Fleury) that keeps them ahead of the bottom feeders

Mcphee is a worse GM than Sakic and Snow. What kind of moron would choose Sbisa over Gaunce ?

lol...unless McPhee has 6-7 more back door deals going if I was a Vegas fan I'd be pissed. With what was available and what Mcphee put together is beyond brutal.

Don the Lemming Whisperer made an excellent point that Mcphee is the worst GM ever for not selecting Gaunce and his infinite ceiling.

Not really. MAF played behind a way better D in PIT last season and looked average...he'll have some interesting #'s showing behind that D in Vegas.

Marc Andre Fluery - 38 GP @ 0.909
Jakob Markstrom - 25 GP @ 0.910

Pretty much identical. Here's hoping Markstrom finally takes the no 1 position and runs with it.

And with as much praise as Miller got last season, Markstrom's #'s were right there along side Millers and actually better in some ways. Miller finished with a 0.914 which is respectable but also a brutal 2.8/9 GPG where Marky kept his to 2.6

Yeah the numbers show he can do it. Remember when Miller was injured Marky was solid. When they were a tandem if Marky had a bad game he was shelved. Miller was given the rope to play again if he faltered.

Wonder what Green will do? Rotate? Go with hot hand? Give Marky the extra rope?

I think MAF struggles more when he doesnt get the net as often and will return to a better form next season. 2014-15 and 2015-16 were his best save % of his career, so I expect a drop to more of his career average of .912 which would still have him ahead of Markstrom. I also think Pickard is a good pickup for them in the times at MAF struggles

I do hope Markstrom maintains his play from last season with the larger workload, I really like the guy

A lot of teams can they all improved. Well except for Wings maybe Avs. Injuries and how quick chemistry forms will be determining factors to start.

For Canucks, injuries aside, it really is how fast/well their younger guys develop. Until then they tread water or sink further.

Markstrom, Gaunce, Subban and Cassels all deserve a chance. It's time to let these blue chippers prosper

Thats the problem, they have been busy learning at lower levels. How can they learn the NHL game when they arent there?? They need NHL action to learn to be NHLers. 20 minutes per night for 20 games and then they will need to adjust their responsibilities slightly because they might be on the verge and you dont want to stop developing too soon

Good morning,

Notes on Mike Zalewski and Nicklas Jensen, and a little optimism as I break down the first half of the 2017-18 schedule.

great ideas! Let's lock them all up long term so we can buy a few UFA years. Last thing we can afford is all these kids reaching their ceilings and then have to shell out 3 or 4 Mcdavid like contracts
