Oh Toronto is in another situation completely than Montreal.

But if you ask me, hypothetically, if somehow Toronto swapped Andersen and JVR for Price tomorrow, they wouldn't be in a worst spot money wise, and they'd obviously be an instantly better team.

I wouldn't trade Price for Andersen and JVR... not even close.

Again though, this just pointless summer talk as this is an impossible scenario.

Can't wait for the season to start and we're in July!

It's the term that would be the issue for us, not the $ amount. We'd be better right now for sure, but possibly worse in 3 years.

Montreal is a pretty interesting team right now, it's tough for me to decide if I think they are better or worse. For what it's worth, from a Leaf fan, I think they are better. I also think they should keep Galchenyuk.

I think the "new NHL" is where teams win with holes. Special players make teams pay the price for mistakes, add goaltending and health...you can raise the Cup.

Well yeah, if you have an incomplete team, but so do the other 30 clubs, you certainly can.

The cup winning teams in LA and Chicago were damn near perfect for their respective systems....the Pens certainly were not but they were still pretty damn deep...and had 2 of the absolute best players at very key positions, of course.
