I am sorry but with cap space left I don't know how you don't go for better players on a one year deal. There are better defenders out there that can be had for a mil at most, under 2. Worst case you run with 8. Its not like Gryba is so talented that we need to make ice time for him.
Plus, you sign Jagr. You just do. He wants to play for the Oil. What does he want? 4 mil? Thats what we paid Russel. I bet you Jagr playing RD trumps Russel playing RD. He is a LW. I am not convinced that Maroon after one good season is a top line player on a cup contending season. Especially since his one good season is about as good as Jagr's worst. Also Lucic is too inconsistent for me to be confident that he can be the number one guy for 16 wins in the playoffs. Worse case Jagr plays third line. You can play him right or Left if you want like Jokinen. There are just too many question marks to not grab one of the best guys that has ever played the game on a one year deal. |

As for your argument, is there confirmation that Jagr wants to play for the Oilers? His entire career has seen him play for a Western Conference team just once (Dallas) so there's plenty of history to doubt he would have interest. In the event you actually have proof for your claim for once, is it not possible that one party involved is in no rush to sign a contract? |

Back then he and Hemsky were budds and he wanted to go to Edmonton but the KHL paid way more. Jagr has always been about one thing and one thing only. Money.
Plus we should probably get Drai locked down before spending 4 mill on an old has been. (frank) Jagr. |

Jordan Eberle for Ryan Strome,Jussi Jokinen and Kris Russell is nothing short of spectacular. Chiarelli has put his team on notice. No free rides on this team,regardless of draft pedigree,or time served with the club. Accountability finally exists in the Oilers organization.
After watching 12mins of Ryan Strome do Ryan Strome things,I'm very excited about this young player's new opportunity. I noticed he has very slick hands,but most importantly,he can let a wicked one timer go,from either side of the ice. He could be the shooter,to go alongside McDavid,that we had hoped Eberle would be. |

I just want people to be able to have intelligent conversations... is that too much to ask? I know the answer already.
It's reasonable to suggest we haven't seen the best from Nurse and to say there is plenty of time for him to improve. To suggest he is even close in the conversation of Hamilton is an absolute joke.
