Figured you would have guessed that after I listed his stats and the team he played for.

Aho had 24g and 49pts for the Hurricanes last year.

To be true to reality, had they not made that awful trade they were said to have been most interested in Eriksson-Ek (Svechnikov was a consideration) and Carlo at each spot respectively (as per Stauffer iirc). If that's the case, then the trade still looks awful but at least speaks to an improvement as far as talent evaluation and drafting.

October-November? You make it seem like the Flames quieted us down around Christmas by pulling ahead of the Oilers....which, as you know, never happened last year. We owned you gays all year and had an infinitely better season and playoff, by all comparisons, so what exactly are you talking about? Ancient history?

No. Just pointing out you guys have a ton of young posters early in the season every year and then the faithful remain after January. Didn't say anything about the Flames. You turned a consistent yearly observation of the Oilers threads into an insecure mess.

I think I'd rather have the balance that Eriksson-Ek and Carlo would give us over more high end talent like Barzal and Aho. If we had JEE, we could feasibly explore the option of trading Nuge without fear of needing to wait long on a replacement. If we had Carlo, we may not have resigned Russell long term.
