This is a PSA:
Sports hernia surgeries are low risk, low concern surgeries. Teens can get these repaired and be out there in a few months at 100%. Hell, BiggE could get one done and be fine in a few weeks. Sports hernias are not a big deal.
I repeat: sports hernias are not a big deal.

19 points last year and a steady decline for how many years in a row now? he has shown no inclination to rebound. none.
such an asset he wasn't moved last year. teams are lining up for the matt reads of the world. - rinaldo
Rinaldo got a 3rd rounder, Paul Guastad got a 1st, you never know what teams will be looking for, who will be available, and which GMs are desperate for depth. Could see Read fetching a 3rd or more if he has 25 points by the deadline. |

He missed practically the entire year last year. And is coming off a difficult surgery which takes a while to get back up to speed with (no pun intended).
I don't know what the plans are yet. I'm sure the team is taking it one day at a time. But if he's not progressing as quickly as they feel he should, and they won't know until he's back on the ice participating in contact drills, All I'm saying is that I wouldn't be surprised to see him sent back.
Why make your most valued pick struggle at 70% against much stronger men when you can let him progress more evenly back in Brandon? - 77rams
No chance at all that they will send him back to Brandon and monitor him from afar. |

Why not? The docs in Manitoba seem to be top notch. |

Chiming in on Read and Rafl. I have wanting Rack in particular to be anchoring the 4th ljne, either at LW or center.. He drives possesion, good defensively and can score a bit. He and Read should be fighting for a spot. Those two guys with Laughton make a pretty good 4th line. But there are other guys battling, Veccs, Lehtera, Weiss.

I had a family member yesterday ask me to "review the X-rays from the last few years to see if the pneumonia is always in the same spot".

Thing is i think they would almost need to move 2 guys to make space for Leier.
If things go how i hope then I see these players in the top 9:
Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, Couturier, Weal, Konecny, Patrick, Filpulla, Lindblom.
That leaves:
Read, Raffl, Vecchione, Lehtara, Laughton battling for a 4th line role possibly.
And that is without Leier.
Just a tough numbers game right now for him. - J35Bacher get rid of the two guys who's last name starts with R maybe or 2 that start with L or a combination of the two?

Need to look at that 11 points properly. All of Raffl's points came in 5 on 5 play. He doesn't play on the PP. Raffl only played 52 games. Simmonds had 20 5 on 5 points in 82 games. Giroux had 18 in 82 games. Brayden Schenn had 21 in 79 games. - MJL
Thanks for the laugh. 11 points isn't good at even strength either. The entire team was garbage at even strength so it's not really a good comparison. Raffl is giving fourth line production and he should stay there. |

I thought, wow if that guy can do that more often he'd be a boon for the O...unfortunately I recall only the 2 then he disappeared, hurt et al...

I think many of you are not giving Lehtera a fair look. He is over paid but is a threat to win that 4C position |

He is, but he's also more of an offensive playmaker than a defensive stopper so it would be a total departure in approach from last year's 4th line. |

I read somewhere when they made the trade that he was very defensively responsible. Now I only know what I read on him so I could be wrong. Anybody had eyes on him? |

I know basically nothing about him.
Blues fans basically said he's slow and soft. Last thing this club needs is less speed. |

The laugh is actually best reserved for the comment you made because you were obviously looking at Raffl's point total on the whole for the entire season rather than putting it in the proper perspective of looking at in terms of usage, games played, and relative to his teammates.
