Top five man games lost by injury. It happens.
- Dan Petriw

No excuses. That was the same team that went all the way to the ECF in 7 games vs. A red hot Pens team without Stamkos and Bishop. Yzerman screwed up this year too. Just admit it.

They are all pro Athletes and could give a shat if JT signs here or goes elsewhere. Nothing they can do about it. As a matter of fact Nelson becomes that much more important for the Islanders to sign if JT walks. They aren't worrying about something they can't control. It's media fueled BS.
As long as he gets a big number and it helps the NHLPA Brotherhood they are going to go about their business and play the game. Their are not going to worry where JT is going to be next year. If he's here great, if not what are they going to kick and scream and cry.

Until further notice, this Isles team is still very fragile 7. Did we forget the Philly game and all the blowouts? I'm suppose to believe more than a few Isles players will not be worried about JT leaving and it's not going to effect their play at all?

Well you can feel that way about it but this isn't a High school team, this is the pros where they get paid to play. Sorry I don't believe the OMG the sky is falling media BS.
You think Barzal or Poluck give a shat whether JT is gonna be here or are they going to be more interested in how they produce and stay up with the big club. JHS is going to have a bad year and its going to be because JT hasn't signed yet? Not buying it. The only one that will use the excuse will be Garth if the Islanders don't make the PO's He has that excuse highlighted in his why we did't make the PO's excuse book.

This is the pros 7 but more than a few Isles do not get that. I'm not worried about JHS, Pulock or Barzal. I'm worried about fragile Frankie's in Bailey and Nelson. This team needs to show me they are mentally and physically tough enough. Sorry my friend we will have to disagree on this one.

of course they care more about how they produce but at the same time I'm sure they want him to resign as it gives them the best chance to win. Once the puck drops its just a game and whether hes signed or not wont matter, where it will get monotonous is having to answer the questions 10 times a day all season if it gets that far. If anyones production drops because of this then they should be shipped out because really how distracting can that be to anyone other than JT?

They are going to laugh at the question after a while and joke about it in the locker room, saying how phucking stupid the media is! JT will be asked for sure and he will say that Snow and Brisson are working on it, you will know once there's something to report.
I want to be an Islander and hopefully something will get done.

thats what im thinking too, the best news is that hes willing to see what the organization is going to do. This to me means he wants to be here and is giving them every opportunity to keep him but not just for money alone, this is his way of saying get me what i need to win

Because he always say the right thing to the media it makes it very hard to figure out what is going on in his head. Maybe he means it or maybe he was taught how to play the media game.

This is the thing Jimmy. Maybe he really means all this and maybe not? Maybe he has every intention of signing and the team has another disappointing season. Very risky to let this play out for the entire year.

It will play out as long as JT wants it to play out. Snow isn't trading him. JT is in complete control.

Isles can always trade him Upstate. There is that. Maybe it's not a great option but it is something. They are not completely helpless. I just hope JT is not pissed already and he is just stringing them along. I doubt this is the case, but anything is possible.

No way hes traded I think they will wait like Tampa did for better or worse especially when you consider the monet off the books next year to make another "big run" at a ufa

You mean next year there will be decent FA's to sign?

Isles have not be a big destination for FA's anyway. Unless they somehow go on a long run this year and keep JT and get a deal on Belmont.

OF course Jimmy, he's been trained on what to say to the media by Brisson since he was 15 years old. Most players are, especially the highly talented players who are going to be taken with the first 5 picks in a draft.

Idk I mean they will never get full value for him like Boston didn't for Seguin. Hes elite whether hes top 5 or 15, he is a game changer

Islanders still haven't replaced Frans and it is a huge hole in their lineup imho.

But again Im always wrong They did fine in the POs last year without him, oh wait
