You guys sound like Snow. You have to reach down and grab your balls and get the piece you need and its gonna take a good prospect/player to get it.
I mean this guy in the one article says, "maybe" JT and Barzal = Crosby and Malkin, for phucks sake the kid played how many NHL games? you think JT gives a shat what Barzal can be or you think he rather have a true 2nd line center behind him in the line up right phucking now?
I rather be balls against the cap and address the needs of this team and have a true chance to win the Cup with proven players versus if this guy play well and this guy developed into a true blah blah blah BS. - nyisles7
Good and when we trade guys for him and duchene walks in two years and the team is worse off you'll be happy then? We all have our own opinions, yours is not fact because you say it |

In a Cap world, guys like Barzal are valuable. It's very risky moving him for a guy that can walk in two years. I was willing to move Barzal for Drouin. JT is unsigned now and again Duchene can walk even if they trade for him. I get being careful about moving Barzal. See is the Avs will take Beau instead. |

This team needs more than one piece. Col. wants/needs D-men. Barzal and a package of forwards/picks isn't getting it done. Who else you giving up? Pulock? deHaan? My guess is that Snow had Hamonic in a package for Duch & Sakic wanted more than what was offered. (frank) Sakic. Not overpaying for Duch was a smart good move by Snow. Besides, once Sakic realizes he's painted himself into a corner, the price fro Duch will drop significantly. Nothing says he won't be traded by the deadline. |

I hate to say I agree with Gaines on this but
Eberle will be way better than strome and that 1st line will score a lot
pulock will score more than hamonic
Pulock and eberle make the pp way better
jhs only 20 games but .5 per game and could have had more. I personally believe he will be a Calder finalist
Barzal will prove he belongs in the nhl but may start season in ahl
This roster isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be and they have a great tandem in net but they need to split games |

Duchene will walk in 2 years or cost us so much along with jt we won't be able to keep anyone else. He compared the benefits of both and came up with barzal, I agree - Upstate_isles
The costs of course are beneficial that's a given. The unknown with barzal as an NHL player and whether or not Tavares needs to see more added to the line up is where the grey area is. My point is that has a serious effect on the future of this franchise not trading barzal is not necessarily making a play for the future. In fact it very well may turn out to be much more risky for this franchise. |

I'm a little tired of this idea JT is still not happy with the talent on this team. Maybe when L&M bought the team, he should have let them know it was a good idea to get a new GM and coach in. I rather JT be honest with the owners instead of sulking in silence. |

So was Strome and Nelson and Sorokin and on and on and on! Im just sick and tired of the look how talented our prospects are. The SC is won with your current (Core) team not what coming or could be on the ice in 1, 2 or 3 years.
Really The Islanders needed Duchene more than Drouin imho. We need help up the middle not on wing. Someone who can win a draw other than JT would be great. |

I agree this is dependent upon jt resigning but if he does and we keep bazral I think it's the correct move. I wants against duchene just what sakic wants for him |

If Cappy was fired years ago these young prospects might have had a better chance. This is my point on JT. Instead of being a good solider, maybe it was better if he went to ownership and gave his real thoughts? I'm just done already with this JT thing and everything dragging out. |

There is a lot of assuming in this post with pretty much all unknowns.
That is exactly one of the issues with Snow. There are no clear cut defining things to base this being a great roster next year. Appreciate your optimism but we haven't seen enough of most of the players you mentioned let alone our coaching staff most of which has little or zero coaching experience. JT clearly agrees or he would have signed already I know some on here have already put their stamp on the only reason he hasn't is because of the arena but I think that's just a whole lot more assuming with nothing to base it on. |
