Charts in blog fixed, sorry for the inconvenience. - airjan23
They seemed to be good at first then went to being Weber vs Subban. They also don't load consistently for me but I think that is the sites fault. |

just based on an increase in opportunity and playing time, you can reasonably expect his next year to be his best, I think it would be smart to take advantage of that - YuenglingJagr

I know I'll get killed here Jan for the following comment but who really cares. Theres a top end RFA center in western Canada that requires an offer sheet. Draisital would be the perfect #1 center. One of two ways to do this. Sign him to an $11.5m/ year for 7 years or, entice Edmonton to take Kreider, Miller & Sean Day plus next years 1rnd pick. Do they bite the bullet and kill themselves trying to resign their RFA;s for next year or let him walk for the picks. They could at least entertain the idea of ready to go players. Just a thought. Ok, let me have it! |

I am all for Draisaitl but it is just not realistic. The money is not there to threaten with an offersheet that would get the job done. So now there is no way to actually threaten them and I don't think they take those players for Draisaitl. Plus that is a lot to give up if they did. |

No way at $11.5/per for that length. I am all for bringing in talent to the Rangers, but what works on one team may not work on yours. I'd rather reward those that work out to keep them here and continue to work out. Otherwise, you risk a Gomez-like situation where you need to sucker another GM in taking a non-tradable contract off your hands. |

Also the Canes just signed Jaccob Slavin to extenison, 7 years 37.1 million. If Skjei has another season like he had this past year, do you bridge him or sign him to a comparable contract in context to Slavin?

Yeah let's give the Draisaitl offer sheeting(or offer sheeting any team in general) a rest. Rangers are too classy a franchise to build bad blood with any other teams GM's etc, specially Sather with his NY/EDM connection. NEVER HAPPENING, just like Tavares to Rangers is a pipedream. You want a Elite #1? Stink for a season & pray there's one available in draft with pick 1 or 2(which hate to break it to ya, we'll probably never be that bad with our "retooling on the fly" strategy". |

I agree, offer sheets are so rare, it really seems to be something most teams stay away from now. |

Precisely, & as one poster had mentioned in the prior blog, who's to say Draisaitl's numbers weren't stacked playing on a line with McDavid, which they were!
Tough pill to swallow to have a 10million dollar man only putting up Stepan-like numbers. Clearly that's worst case scenario but a risk no GM is willing to take, except Brian Burke maybe |

I mean to sign Draisaitl to that deal would be like two 1st's, a 2nd and 3rd or four 1st's. Not thrilled with that. However, the Rangers have nobody to replace Kreider and Miller. Day is the Rangers best N.A. prospect. No on all accounts there. |
