Gritty is fine. My point is they cannot let Buch sit games, assuming he's healthy. They may as well trade him if they'd do that. Just saying, adding a winger to stunt or block him is asinine. He cannot be a 4th line player because your wasting him there. You have to play him 82 games in a top 9 role and live with whatever mistakes he may make. Same with Vesey to a lesser degree.

Well, a couple of years ago I let slip that I was going on a diet, only to be turned into Big wussy from the Sopranos in about 32 seconds.

Brian still won't let me live down I didn't know what Barry Manilow looked like.

Seriously though, why the (frank) would I know what he looks like? Its not like I'm a 60 year old single women with 10 cats.

Metric system is much more logical than the American math system.

1st - i disagree. i think they are in a rebuild on the fly mode(as GM Gorton has said) which means sign decent FAs but dont break the bank and dont trade young players.
2nd - they just signed Pavelec, why sign him if they are trying to upgrade from him? they wanted a veteran that has proven he can be decent at times but is still cheap - i hate his signing but he is our backup this year. we are paying him $1.3M to do just that.

- richardson30

1) Yes. we know that they are in a rebuild on the fly mode. But they are also in a win now mode, as per their re-signing of Smith, and their signing of a much greater than "DECENT F.A.", in Shatty, both whose new contracts will ironically expire after the SAME season as Hank's does. That's them also being in a win now situation. If not, those 2 d'men signings do not occur, leaving their spots up for grabs among their kids, like Day, Pionk, Pionk, Bereglazov, Graves, etc.
2) Why did they sign Pavelec to be Raanta's replacement? He was their best affordable lower priced option remaining, after losing out on Nilsson in key among a few others including Kuempher, and Chad Johnson. They gambled and lost out in that Nilsson would be offered a large increase in salary by anyone else.
If any Rangers fan is not worried about the recent years' downfall in play of an at times, injury plagued Pavlec, then why were all those other lower priced (under $2.5M) F.A. goalies signed earlier? In addition, why was Pavelec the F.A. goalie that received by a huge amount, the largest decrease in salary in accepting $1.3M as opposed to his prior $4.75M he earned last season with the Jets?
Furthermore, if the Rangers were ONLY in a rebuild on the fly mode, then having not been chosen by Vegas in the Expansion Draft, why did they not retain Raanta, instead of needing to part with him (as per Arizona's demand) in the trade to get Stepan's $6.5M in cap space freed in order to use it to sign Shatty, and also acquire the #7 overall pick to select Andersson to be of use immediately? That best exemplifies them as also being in a "win it now mode while rebuilding on the fly".
