You don't want a young D-man. You want a 25.. not 26, 27, 23, 24... 25 year old top pairing D-man..Plus picks and prospects. All for a 26 year old center who scored a wopping 18 goals and was a - 34 this year (-64 in his career) and is only signed for 2 more years. You think Hamonic is getting worse? How about your boy Matt. The guy Is on a pp unit with some pretty talented players to only score 18 goals. ... guess what.. You are being unrealistic.

You want to try to troll the Avs bc you are pissy that you didnt land Duchene bc your GM was being a douche canoe trying to pawn off Hamonic who really wasnt that important if all he got were some draft picks from a team that is going to be in win now mode

Their GM already made it clear they'd keep Draistl at all costs and for the record the cost of offer sheeting Drasaitl would be two 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd round pick. For a team that is "guaranteed bottom 5 next year" does that sound like an intelligent idea to you?

All you'd accomplish is pissing off another GM, possibly creating a target for your future RFAs. Next!

I think Barzal is better than Duchene RIGHT now... so u got the wrong guy. I am just enjoying the insanity that is the Avs Fan Base on this msg board. You guys stink. You have a horrific GM. You think all your players are fantastic and everyone else's stinks. I pray that Duchene is not moved at all b/c it will be fun to watch.

I will enjoy checking back with you when you play Calgary this year and the non competitive Travis Hamonic knocks your whole team around the ice.

You should be more sad that Sakic didn't take NYI's package of players they don't need for one of the Avs best players. Seeing as how you clearly aren't getting the part where the Avs don't need another RHD with O capability, I'm going to brake it down in caveman terms.

Duchene scored 30 goals last year with Comeau and sometimes Iggy as a winger. It's obviously a down year. Nice try though.

I almost don't feel I should make this comment with the few butt hurt isles fans lurking but...

Attaining Hamonic ++ for Duchene may have made sense if Sakic could have moved Hamonic right after for 1st and two 2nds from Cal and then flipped a high pick/prospect elsewhere for the Dman Avs need.

Won't have to worry about it since he will be hurt most likely when we play them.

Nah...JT had a down year last year and wasn't very good...that makes him over rated...

I'm pretty sure the Isles have been fleeced so many times that their fans thought it was their turn to do it to someone else.

I think you will be surprised. Getting rid of the dead weight, aging, and slow players is addition by subtraction all by itself. Guys like Iginla could not hang anymore. Replacing those players with talented youth like Rantanen, Jost, Bigras, Andrighetto will also be a big improvement. Avs are improving on all fronts. I think they are going to have a big time resurgence. If they make the trade of Duchene for a top pairing Dman, I think they can make the playoffs! Tons of skill on this team, they just need to shed the dead weight and negativity. Refocus with their youth and speed, and watch out NHL. Don't forget the prospect of a healthy Varlamov, and the competition of a veteran in Bernier breathing down his neck. Lots of things to be positive about with the Avs. I love the youth movement!

Someone actually advertised in another comments section last night his stream of him playing NHL 17 in Colorado Avalanche GM mode. I have to imagine that that was the most boring stream ever. He probably didn't do anything to improve the team for two hours and clicked "Decline" on all trade offers.

drafting. Looking at his 2015 & 2016 draft classes, and with what he did this previous one.

He put together a good scouting staff.

He hasnt made any big trades or signings to write home about but lots of smaller moves that have all yielded respectable results moving towards a clear team direction and not just the win now he was doing with Roy
