I'd like to think that Lou didn't pay Marleau $6M to play on the third line while our $2M plug plays on the first. I really hope that's not what happened.

I don't think he'll be on Matthews line (Marleau)...but I don't care either way.

Even with 50, hopefully the USA with a population of over 320 Million can produce 50 quality hockey players in a given season.

He'll be in the "top 6" with Matthews, Nylander, Marner, JVR and Bozak. The "3rd line" will still get lot's of time too with Kadri, Leo and Brown.

By the end of they year, Trouba was their number 1 Defenseman.
Unless Trouba has reiterated his trade request (no idea if he has), why would the Jets trade him? There is a reason the B's made (supposedly) made a significant offer.

Might be their best d-man, Byfuglien is imo - they will trade him eventually before he becomes a UFA. He's an RFA due a significant raise after this season. They can sign him to a bridge deal, it is unlikely he will sign an 8 year deal with the Jets. Remember that like it or not, Jets are a penny pinching team. They are not, and are unlikely to be a cap team any time soon. They will have to take the elastic off the bankroll for Trouba as well as Laine - Get out the Zantac for Chevy.

I agree....if we keep JVR I think he slots in beside Matthews...if we trade JVR I think Marleau is a perfect fit for Bozak/Marner...but I'm just taking a stab.
