If you don't care to look any deeper than goals, that's your issue.

Yeah he's great defensively but he isn't worth that type of money. You're way overvaluing him and he's not my issue anymore.

could have but I dont think they jerked him around..the story was that he wanted the exact same Landeskog contract coming off his ELC

Duchene signed a bridge deal after outscoring ROR by leaps and bounds over their ELC years. Even back then ROR felt like he was owed something.

There has to be more to the story bc there were all these rumours of him thinking he was going to be named Captain before Landeskog, etc. I dunno I think ROR and the Avs were never on the same page from Dy a1

It's possible, but I have a hard time believing that was all on ROR. Water under the bridge now, but I still get frustrated thinking about how the Avs could have been good had they handled things more effectively.

oh it was on the Avs too, they tried to force a bridge deal on a player that they clearly shouldnt afford to play hard ball with.

They have these weird little contract nuances back in the day, such as the no one makes more than X player and have to bridge deal etc.

Recognize talent early and lock them up and we could all be avoiding this mess
