If injuries happen, sure, it might happen.
Not a big fan of Holland. It's a depth signing, 2 way contract, destined for the AHL if things go the way they're planned. - Scabeh
How did Bergevin fit Holland's Agent's number in that wallet!

I keep telling you guys.
This man is a magician when it comes to signing 3rd/4th liner.
He might be the best in the goddamn league! |

You know how I know I've been a little to overzealous with lefties over the past 10 days? I had no idea you guys signed Alzner until right now |

When Bozak was a #1 C (by default) he was in over his head and didn't fill the role.
As a #3, he's great for the team.
I say keep him for a while and see what his ask is for a new deal.
Having him and JVR motivated for a new contract can be a good thing.
ALSO, don't forget the Leafs only made the playoffs in the 81st game last season, no guarantee that they do it again by adding only Marleau and Hainsey to the lineup which means they could do well by dealing JVR and Bozak at the deadline.
My suggestion would be to keep them both and see how the team does in the first 40 games then go from there. - cracka
I agree keep Bozie. Can never have too many centers.
And yes this team could easily miss the playoffs as several players had career years last season. But I dont see Matthews taking a step back (Im hoping he scores 5 less goals and has a couple more assist), Im hoping neither of the other two do as well.
So Im hoping the team makes positives strides forward, has more wins and points when its all said and done. |

ITs the first time in his career he's gotten over 50 points.
Ya, on certain teams he could easily be a 2nd liner...true, agreed. - Fakepartofme
Agree, and I would venture that even though he played with JVR and Kessel before, this was the best line he was ever on in his career. One of the mitigating points right now is the Leafs will have to make at least one, possibly two, 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 trades to reduce the number of contracts. They don't want to lose players like Rychel for nothing by exposing him to waivers when camp ends. I would be ok for including Bozak in a package with other pieces and picks but lets get the best player back. That is certainly not the case with this suggestion.

I can honestly say, there is not one single Habs player who I'd like to see raise the cup. Drouin I guess because he hasn't pulled on the sweater yet but come October 4 he's a total douche canoe.

Yup.
I definitely see a multi player for 1 type of deal coming from leafs.
Hopefully for quality....but who knows. |

Now do the 10 years before that - markmark
Good point. Kopitar is a good example of a GM's worst nightmare. Pay a player for what he used to do. His contract and Brown's and Gaborik's are the main reasons Lomardy's ass was punted out of LA. Kopitar is set to make $10 million for 7 more years, easily the worst contract in the NHL. Makes the Phaneuf deal look like a bargain. Kopitar may well bounce back and have a good year or two, smart money says he never delivers on that contract.

Yet to be seen. I'd say it's a MUCH bigger problem to pay Kulemin or Clarkson big money after ONE good year. A Selke winner who has consistently put up good numbers playing both ends of the ice for a decade I think shouldn't lose all confidence from management after a down year in which the whole team did poorly. |

This.
Kopitar is god damn amazing when he's on his game.
He's far from being "the problem" for LA. |

"McDavid easily worst contract in NHL, since he only got 85 points this season.."
Kopitar is a #1C.

Geez...did I read a bunch of praise for Bozak...that's strange but nice for a chance.
Again..if we trade JVR I don't see Marleau playing with Matthews...I'd say Hyman stays there and Marleau will play with Bozak and Marner...that's my guess anyways.

Assuming the roster today stays intact this is what I'd want:
Marleau-Matthews-Nylander
JVR-Bozak-Marner
Brown-Kadri-Komarov
Kapanen-Moore-Hyman/Martin |

Under Bozak's leadership, the Leafs made the playoffs.
LA missed the playoffs.

Somethings gonna happen...can't see them signing Hyman to be a spare...Martin is going to get his reg shift regardless of how poopty people think he is.
Hopefully we get our Big D ( as per EK ) sometime this week

While I agree with this, it is just not a good contract. He will have alot of miles on those legs when he is 35, 36 and 37 and still making $10 large a year. The Brown contract and the Gaborik contract are bad. And the age factor is also a problem for them. But on the plus side they won two cups with these players. They are due for a couple of tough years. I would trade the hardship for the cups.

Yea I know... that's why I said they got a top 10 pick for Stepan and Raanta
Arizona's pick at 7.... and D'Angelo or whatever his name is - when they made that trade.
I also mentioned that they 'created a hole' by traded away stepan (To Arizona)... and now needed centre help.
What's your point?
- Bleedz_Blue
