The prime age for D (or what use to be)
He got 22 pts last year and 25 a few years further back.

Again, not sure what you're expecting to get for Bozak.

More than Holden for sure. Centre is a premium position, without question, and when the trade deadline hits - and you can bet at least a few teams will be looking for a centre. Late first rounder plus is what they should get.

i don't see the need for another LHD.

i think bozak is worth 2 2nds. considering the rangers picked up holden for a 4th, i don't think the value is close.

and again, brooks is a troll.

- Tumbleweed

Agree, and I think if Polak is worth two 2nds at the deadline, Bozak is worth more. He would be top centre on several teams including Rangers.

oh and if marner finally gets some decent linemates that can defend as well and actually understand his brilliant plays, he'll get 80+ points easily.

trade bozak
trade JVR

trade for Faksa as a 2nd/3rd line C - play Marner with Faksa or Kadri, and a decent left wing (Marleau?)

it's a waste of talent to put Marner with J 'I don't backcheck' VR and Bozak (and I don't even mind Bozak; I think he's a decent #3 C).

I agree overpaid but I don't think that will make any dif the way the boys are setup salary wise
- Lucas.Neilson

Yup. It's what Lou already said too. They had the opportunity to get a marleau without hurting themselves cap wise. I'm all for it.

No I know salary wont dictate lines.
But they didnt bring in Marleau to play on the 3rd.
He could play the 2nd....but I could Babs dropping him on the 1st.

Im expecting to have one of the best 3rd line centers in the league who will resign with the Leafs at a discount rate of 4.2 million fir another 3 to 4 seasons - during which time the Leafs will have many deep playoff runs.

keep your midranged wingers and your latefirst round picks. we keep bozak

He's a third line center.

If he could get a 1st, great....but I dont see the leafs collecting future assets, seems like they believe they are ready to make some noise now. (not to say that they wont)

Good third line centers have a clue in their own end tho.. Bozak has never proven to be good defensively

I dont see Hyman playing on the top line alot this year.
Im thinking Marleau (our overpaid 38 year old) could see more games there.

- Fakepartofme

I think you'll see Hyman with Matthews 5 on 5 unless they really need a goal. Powerplay it should be Marleau, Matthews, Nylander

I agree that I don't think they move Bozak for a future asset. More likely the team acquiring him will want to send a bit of salary back too for cap reasons.

I feel we will see very even minutes for whatever two lines come out of Matthews/Nylander/Marner/JVR/KadriORBozak/Marleau

Holden!??!

Gimme a break rangers... bozek is worth so much to the leafs. He does so many things well.

Rangers got a top 10 pick and a top end prospect for stepan and raanta(I know he's better than bozak.. but not by a ton.. a little younger, a few more points per year etc.)...

Now they've created a hole (When smart GM's always say.. you never fill a whole by creating another) albeit they needed the cap space.

But they offer franking Holden?!?! Watching bozak leave for nothing is better than making that trade...

On the Leafs yes, on Ottawa, Montreal,Rangers and many others no. Scored 55 points, more than MacKinnon, Drouin, Hall, Radulov, Simmonds, Kreici, same as Steppan and Turris - still calling him a third line centre?

technically, the Rangers "created a hole" when they traded traded Scott Gomez to Montreal in 2009, this is very similar circumstance

55 points is impressive no doubt.

Yet ask around the league who wants Bozak to give away significant assets to make Bozak one of their top 2 centres.

I'm guessing teams are not lining up in excitement at the idea, just like how Leafs fans kept hoping for an upgrade over him before they had Matthews/Kadri.

Maybe there was another comment explaining this... but what happened to Nylander? Who is "The Hair" on our first line? and how do you plan on getting manson? (Nylander for Manson?)

Also I don't think we'll be paying Marty over $2mil to sit up in the crows nest.. Lievo or Rychel... Rychel may be a bit more skilled than Marty... but Marty brings it and we need to have him around as a "Just in case" someone wants to take a run at Marner or Matthews.

Still scratching my brain about 'the hair' though lol..

- Lucas.Neilson

Yea I know... that's why I said they got a top 10 pick for Stepan and Raanta
Arizona's pick at 7.... and D'Angelo or whatever his name is - when they made that trade.

I also mentioned that they 'created a hole' by traded away stepan (To Arizona)... and now needed centre help.

What's your point?
