I think we all have to live with Staal as the 6th D, at least for one more year. It could be worse, the caps have Tyler chorney as there 5th Dman and Orpik as the 3rd

Only chance is next summer. 15 teams he has to submit to. If we eat 1-1.5 he might be attractive to a team I'd we add something. A team like AZ a few years ago comes to mind. 3 years at 4.2 plus something? It's possible. He's not a terrible 3rd pair option and still good on the PK, but I think his time here is up. Buying him out now though would be a terrible hit.
