Not easy to say who's the next, but I've posted info about Rasmus here before.
Who knows if he's the next Karlsson, but this kid is something else. He do it all, at an elite level. I can see that quite a few gonna tank for this kid...

My gf swears by the show, I just can't get into it. I've tried a few times. It's the dialogue I think |

Larry Brooks stoking the Ryan McDonagh fire two years before free agency.

Larry Brooks has had a really bad summer
not sure if Minnesota will ever go for the "home town boy contract" ever again after the Suter/Parise debacles
those contracts are like prison sentences at this point |

The obvious choice is Daenerys. The fact that Valyrian steel and dragon glass can kill white walkers, fire kills the undead army. etc. |

The cap hits are fine, relatively speaking. The term and recapture penalties might kill. I do think Suter has been better than Parise. |

I've brought it up a few times since the season ended and think it's definitely something to start thinking about. Can Skjei be our #1? Do we believe in a year or so Day will be ready? If the answer to either of those is yes, there's no way I think we should give out an 8 year contract. If he's willing to go 4-5 like Shatty, he's earned that. But no way should we go above that. |

When the lockout occurs in 2022, the teams will be able to amnesty one contact again. Sign him and then amnesty him. No problem. |

If he's demanding a 7 or 8 year deal I think he's gone. I don't think Gorton is willing to hand out years like that after seeing all these deals that are weighing us down now. If he wants 4-5 I think he's a life long Ranger. |

I agree. Metro area teams should have learned after the Icelanders handed out Humpty that mammoth (at the time) contract; only to watch him play only a handful of games due to injury after signing the deal...and still get paid.
You're in your early/mid 20's? Ok...6+ year deal. 30 or over? 4-5 years max (which ever expires when the player hits 35 or so). Players like Ricci, Brind'Amour, Chelios, are players you really won't see play into their late 30's to 40's and still be as productive in today's NHL. Even Jagr has had injuries that hampered seasons past. |
