I'd have said "you're joking, right?" because it is a very famous film for just the reasons you mention.

Funny, no on at my work that I've talked to had heard of it either.

I guess we're all just not cool enough to know about cult propaganda movies from the 30s.

Probably not the best of ideas for someone who has battled alcohol abuse.
I've been tough on Holmgren as far as his job as a GM. Give him a lot of credit for being able to battle that disease. Not easy.

that's no disease. that's an addiction. but yes credit goes to him

Bill, I always appreciate your objective eye and level-head. I, too, would love Markov on that top pair and to see MacDonald pushed out by better play from a rookie. What would it take to get someone to take MacDonald off our hands? Two 2nd-rounders?

Great to see Rubstov and Myers in for camp. Darn shame about Myers' concussions last year. I hope he can stay healthy over the long-haul. I'm feeling trepidation about his ability to stay on the ice for awhile. Hope and pray that he does for his sake, his families sake, and for Flyers fans. Also, dreaming of a Patrick-Rubstov combo down the middle, although far off, sounds pretty great. Would we keep Giroux around like a Shane Doan on 3rd-liner minutes or as a 2nd-line winger? Where's Cooter fit into that mix?

Had a dream last night that we traded Simmonds and Coots for Draisiatl and I was pretty ok with it tbh.

My guess is that people with more than a peripheral knowledge of the movie are probably more involved in that "scene" than folks like you and me.

No judgement, just guessing.

Only two players (as far as I can tell) have ever played for all 3 NY-based NHL teams (not counting the Americans). Can you name them?
- jmatchett383

1. Lafontaine.
2. No idea.

Until recently, I didn't know who Uriah Heep was, either, and apparently they were a fairly big thing back in their day.

I'm guessing that most people aren't aware of certain things that are/were popular for a variety of reasons.

Any thoughts on which number Elliot takes?

He can't wear his normal #1 and I doubt they let him use #31...

They would need to clear more than what sending MacDonald down would give them. I'd only do it if they can clear MacDonald and a veteran forward to clear the cap space needed.
- MJL

I think Manning would also be claimed which would leave them without a suitable #7 unless they wanted to seat a younger player in the press box. I do agree with Bill that it would really improve how the D is slotted to their capabilities.

Hextall has some work to do with his excess forwards. If he see's opportunities to move some, he should explore Markov .

Nope. Maybe older? I've never smoked anything or taken anything not prescribed for me. And I've been drunk probably a handful of times. Too much of a control freak to feel comfortable altered.

Yes, only one NY-based NFL team now. Sad. Although it does make that Eagles at Giants game easier to attend.

Nope. The NFL is the only league of the big 4 that has only 1 NY-based team.
