I don't think Montreal is a sure thing
Price is gonna have to be great with the shape of their defense
And they really couldn't afford to lose Radulov up front

Idk that I'd predict them to miss the playoffs....
but I wouldn't be surprised either

If Price were to get hurt I could see MTL finishing 7th or even 8th. Im not sold with TB as the best in the division either, if Vasi is not great they could miss the playoffs again

Eichel hasn't been great 5 on 5. But again, one year he was 18, the other coming off an ankle injury.

He was a lot better 5 on 5 after the all star break when he seemed fully healed

- sbroads24

If you stack up all 3 on that circle chart thing it's pretty clear only one of these three drives possession and influences play

That $10 million price tag may turn him into Public Enemy #1 real fast, especially in a city where hockey is scrutinized that much.

I wish we had one.

We had one score 28, while missing his annual 10+ games, while also shooting 2% higher than his career average.

If he shot his career shooting % of 9%, he would have had 23.4 goals.

All things to consider when determining to resign a guy to a big deal

- sbroads24

And he missed 12 games which would have put him closer to 35 than 30, also came back early because...he is a WARRIOR

How many high paid "warriors" did Pittsburgh have the last two years?

Agreed, I think we need a little more to be a playoff contender.

Atlantic:
TB
MTL
TOR
OTT
BOS
BUF
FLA
DET

I could see us landing anywhere from 3-7 in the Atlantic, should be a battle till the end for the last playoff spot.

- doppelthat

I see montreal sliding, defense took a hit, drouin may help but they have been making some questionable moves this offseason

if eichel can carry the team offensively and have a very strong season than 3 is possible, but the defense after risto isnt looking so good........probably still better than the devils

TB wins if healthy
Toronto
than its almost up for grabs
i dont think ottowa will have a great season, and have to see how ek plays after his injury
florida should be good but they always seem to be questionable
habs see above
boston should be fighting for a spot
detroit well they have a ways to go

TSN had Laurence gilman (cap guy) on their FA show where he broke down the ideal cap value at each position and he had 1c at 7.5-8 mil. That's what our 2c is at and we expect our #1 to make close to 9 or 10. The difference is going to have to come out of somewhere and I'm guessing it won't be the defence.

I'm not sure how many goal scoring warriors who could skate they had but wished they did, you'll have to ask JB on that.

The counter to that argument is that the top 2 centers of the 2x defending cup championships both make north of that figure, and they have a just under $7 million player from that "somewhere" that you speak of.

Sam is not getting 7.5 or 8 that would be preposterous right now so there you have some savings.

Ottawa isn't either
Florida is run by morons now apparently

- sbroads24

Idk about Florida anymore either?
They seem to be a mess

Ottawa doesn't impress me,
even though they had a great run in the playoffs

I know you're more impressed with Boston than I am

Toronto could even take a step back
Everything went right for them this past season

I think the only sure playoff team in our division is Tampa
But I said that last year too

Division is pretty up for grabs imo

I don't know what they're doing either but panthers have enough talent there that they'll at least be in a wild card

Isn't it even more impressive then that Kane & Reinhart still produce on roughly the same level as Eichel ?

Or would u say it's more of a fluke?

There are going t have to be some 1st contract players making the team like Baptiste, Bailey, Fasching which offers savings and keep the 3rd and 4th lines cheap but hungry to succeed.

It wouldn't shock me if he got Kane to sign a team friendly deal and flipped Reinhart cause he'd have more league wide value but under that gilman set up I think one of them has to go (unless Reinharts deal is incredibly good value)

Is there a place for Sam when Millstadt, however, you spell his name, and Nylander are here? The team is awfully soft without a Kane on the wing if he's gone.

Kane generates shots at an elite level, but you have 8 years worth of samples to see that he's a low% shooter.

Reinhart will be better 5 on 5 if he stays with Jack

i really dont know, but i dont think theyd be too soft. several of the forwards coming through are pretty tough and or big. i just dont think its as big of a need in todays nhl but theyve got some guys there.

Pittsburgh and Chicago have won how many of the last 10 cups, 5 or 6?

How many tough guys do they have?

Salaries are skyrocketing
