could be. its why i thought maybe hed want the 3 year deal as well. it gets him a big raise but you figure if he and the team has any sort of playoff success over those 3 years he could ask for pretty much anything at the end of it.

Like an 11 year deal of sorts. The risk of course is that we dont know whats going to happen to contracts after the next lockout (which is when his would be up i guess)

Getting 8 years now gets him 2 8 year deals IMO

Quotes not working but @ homie:

I'm a proponent of both Bailey and Baptiste. Loved their production in Ra-cha-cha last season, especially with both being called up and Bailey especially with an extended stay. 20+ goals at their age in the AHL is a good sign.

Zemgus is a great example of being rushed to the big club. He got absolutely demolished in the AHL and had that concussion and then was right up here on the NHL team and I always questioned that. So the hope is Bailey/Baptiste were developed properly and better.

But does that translate so quickly to the NHL? They can make the 'jump' this season, imo, by both providing numbers that replace Foligno's production.

IMO, we should be happy with around 13 goals a piece from them but what I want to see is them contributing with some assists totals over 20+. If they can both hit near 40 pts, we don't need Gionta and the "loss" of Foligno is nothing.

Pomminville will be great for this locker room, IMO. I'd argue you even throw the C back on him with Jack and ROR as the A. (frank) this Gionta poop.

No matter what players and owners do or don't do, lockouts are almost inevitable now. The players are always going to want a bigger piece of the revenue pie.
