I don't think we need him.

Bailey-Eichel-Reinhart
Kane-ROR-Okposo
Pouliot-Larsso-Pommer
Moulson-Erod-Girgs
Josefson

DLO TO Roch. I don't think Erod needs to go the AHLto learn how to be a fast 4th liner. He's ready

How long do you let that top line have before you split them up?

Personally, I'd like to see Bailey & healthy-Jack get some time to mesh to see if the goals start to come for Bailey.

I know lots of people are going to say I'm high

But jacks going to go head-to-head with Connor McDavid for the scoring title next year

If This offense lets him be free

Yeah, totally agree. I guess you could debate whether he or Pouliot is currently the 2nd best LW in the organization, but I'd like to find out. Pouliot has a pretty definite ceiling, no one can be sure on Bailey

And we could just sell his ass at the deadline to the highest bidder if he has a good year and if we're out of the playoff picture

That top line isn't good enough defensively to be a top line. IMO

Eichel is a good, skilled, entertaining player. I enjoy watching him play. I'm glad Buffalo has him.
But.
Realistically, injuries notwithstanding, he will be thirty or forty points per season behind McDavid every year for the next decade.
They're simply not in the same conversation (for that matter, almost no one else is in McDavid's category either).
The last three lotteries could have made a for beautiful future for Buffalo.
But they didn't.
I don't particularly like the Oilers, and I hate the Maple Leafs. But they'll be playing each other in a Stanley Cup final before the Sabres win a playoff round.
And that might happen as soon as this season.

I think this makes more sense right now and shows that we have shopping still left to accomplish keeping theses guys in the minors if necessary:

Kane, Eichel, Okposo
Nylander, ROR, Pomminville
Pouliot, Reinhart, Rodrigues
Larrson/Baptiste, Girgs, Moulson

Eichel had a .93 PPG pace

If he played a full season he would have had 76 points. McDavid had 100

30-40 seems off

Yeah you're probably right. But if you swap Pouliot for Bailey then it's not skilled enough to be a top line. We need to find a placeholder for Nylander (hopefully). Still would have preferred Vanek over Pouliot

McDavid will be a 90-100 guy most seasons, Eichel will be a 65-80 most seasons. McDavid will NOT outscore Eichel by 30-40 each season, more like 15-25

65 a year for Eichel feels low. Unless we're factoring in games lost to injury

It's pretty funny, but not used entirely properly.

I have never discussed that free agent before in my life, and you probably can't think of the last time I mentioned Nathan Gerbe.

"Attaboy" is used for subjects like you and Kulikov's "seven games" or Sbroads and all things Kane.

There are other examples. Homie and Genny Cream Ales. Lately, Hatboro's rants comparing Murray and Botterill deserve them.

McDavid will, more likely be a 100-125 point producer every year.
So Jack won't trail him by 30 or 40 points, but in his best years he'll trail him by 25-35 points. I'm very sad to say (having watched hockey here since having season tickets for the Bisons) that McDavid, already at 19, has scored more points in a season than Eichel will ever reach.

Yeah, because Eichel at 20, playing at a .93 PPG pace, could never touch 100 points.

This really is a D- troll attempt

I won't disagree but until we are ahead of the NBA in revenues and TV money this contract will open a can of worms that will have a serious trickle down effect
