you need to move one to lw, either okposo or reinhart

reinhart-eichel-okposo
kane-ror-pommer
nylander/pouliot-girgens/larsson-jagr
moulson/pouliot-girgens/larsson/foligno

This is the second time I've seen you use him in lineups so I have no choice but to step in.

We traded him last week

ROUGH TIMELINE
*as of now, without trades, additional signings, buyouts, etc

Baptiste/Bailey/Fasching/Rodrigues
This year: might make roster, if not, one of the first CallUps
18-19: should be on the roster full time if there's room, some may start in AHL
*u could put Cj Smith in this group as well, but he's currently behind all these guys on the depth chart & would have to leap over some to get a shot

Nylander
This year: Rochester for the most part, could be called up for injuries
18-19: on Sabres roster, in the top9

***that's 5 new forwards to add to the Current core of
Eichel, O'Reilly, Kane, Reinhart, Okposo
Plus Girgensons & Larsson who are probably still here for at least another year or 2 bc they're Centers
Moulson & Pominville are under contract for next season as well...
Bought out? Traded? Still on the team?

If they're still here for 18-19...
that gives us 14 forwards (not counting Smith)

That's why Pouliot & Josefson were signed to 1 year deals imo...
so that the kids can be here next year

So with 14 forwards (currently) in the plans for 18-19...
it seems to me that Asplund, Pu & Mittelstadt will all be groomed slowly

Pu will finish Juniors & then heads to Rochester for a few seasons
Mittelstadt likely spends a couple years in college & then joins Rochester
Asplund is a bit of a wild card- if he's ready to take Larsson or Girgensons spot next year, one of them could be moved. He's in Sweden for this year though

That's how I see things anyways

Possible 18-19 lineup, with players we have now

Kane-Eichel-Reinhart
Okposo-O'Reilly-Pominville
Nylander-Larsson-Baptiste
Moulson-Girgensons-Bailey/Fasching/Rodrigues

Or something like that
Obviously guys can be shifter around
I'd personally put Sam at 3C asap & build 3 scoring lines

My 18-19 lineup, without major changes...

Baptiste-Eichel-Nylander
Bailey-O'Reilly-Okposo
Kane-Reinhart-Pominville
Girgensons-Asplund-Rodrigues

-Moulson hopefully shipped out
-Larsson & Fasching as trade bait to further improve defense

I'm not sure Nylander AND baptiste are top line and I feel like bailey should be third line. Asplund in the NHL that early also seems like a reach.

they dont need to be, in that hypothetical they're on a line with eichel. Thats likely how this team will be built. Big contracts to the core (especially eichel) and then cost effective players on his wings
