it's actually a pretty cool video lol
- Nucker101

Certainly sounds like they had Lind closer to 20th as opposed to 33rd

Yeah, I'm just glad they didn't trade up for him. Too bad about Vegas not giving us that extra pick.

Lack Sucks.
- thundachunk

Lack just doesn't have that normal goalie mentality. The weirdness and hatred if they are scored on. The anger.

I feel good about Brackett running the draft, seems like a smart guy. Just keep Delorme and Weisbrod away from important decisions.
- Nucker101

I agree. I think Weisbrods usefullness is coming to an end very soon.
Eg no more trades with the Flames lol.
As for Delorme he is from the old regimes & needs to go IMO

This draft went well & its the next where it will matter.
2018 is a crucial draft at that.

- Nighthawk

Next year seems as if whoever you pick in the top 10 you are going to get a real good player.

Its a bit too bad, but I like that it was Benning that approached them about it. When I heard the news, I assumed it was Vegas coming to them. It was nice to see him strategize on gaining extra picks

Boucher has a better shot than Rodin.

I really want OJ to make it but I think he is another year away.

- thundachunk

Sure Boucher will play. Rodin is faster if playing a speed game. They probably rotate in unless there are injuries. Both have a lot to prove and can add value for trades if they pay off.

My take on OJ is he is ready for next step of pros if he put on the weight and strength. Right now that seems to be happening. For camp a roster spot is open if he beats out Beiga and Pedan. Both would clear waivers and help development of Comets team.

The CHL won't challenge him as much next season then pro exposure in a sheltered capacity. It's not about being dominant in a league that's not how players of his type develop. He should play AHL but is barred. So believe spotting him minutes this season gets his pro feet wet. Next season he can play top AHL minutes and be ready for it if he's not ready for more in NHL.

I wonder what the extra pick was. I'm guessing a 5th or 6th round pick.

Looks like JB values his input & allows his ppl to input.
Luv the fact its a team effort drafting 👍👍

- Nighthawk
I like where the team is headed. Some questionable moves but all and all I don't think JB is any worse than some of the otherasshat GM's out there.

Reports on draft day from Lebrun was that it was a 2nd round pick but Vegas caught wind VAN was passing on Glass and withdrew

If Rodin is healthy, I see him beating out guys like Boucher. Boucher has a great shot, but he doesn't bring much else to the table. Rodin's faster and more skilled.

Maybe it was when he pointed at him in the crowd and was like "hey thats him over there. Elias Pettersson."

So you're thinking they will have JV play >10 minutes per night on the NHL 4th line, while Derek Dorsett plays 17+ minutes in a top 6 scoring role in the AHL?
- WhiteLie

JV can be shuttled back and forth like the other waiver except prospects. But he can add to a balanced attacked and speed game in NHL line. Shouldn't see lines as fixed numbers.

As for DD posted it several times my take look at those posts even in this thread. I'll add this. There are no playoffs for Nucks. So he has better value leading and teaching young prospects into playoffs for Comets.

Not yet. It has been a while for me as well.

I went out in the pontoon with my 6 year old. So it was mostly teaching him to cast. It was pretty windy to so we were getting blown up the west end and it took everything I had to row us back east. Battery died for the motor.

- thundachunk

Battery died...lol, we've all been there...

I'm going to spend a lot of time around Horsefly this summer... do the lakes and the river. Here's my 14 foot fishing raft for rivers. It's good for everything actually. Did a 10 day solo drift for elk on the Muskwa with it even. Horsefly River has great water flow this season.

Last I heard he would be ready for training camp. I think he said so at the end of year press conference.

Even if he wasn't, why pencil him in on the AHL? He will be on the NHL roster 100% this year, IR or not

- WhiteLie

The point is he shouldn't be in a time of prospect and reclamation development. That roster spot is ideal for players to be spotted to make their bones. While DD who's an NHL player can show the young guys on Comets how to become one.
