Just watched the Benning mic'd up bit at the draft. Seemed pretty high on that Lind kid.

They had him rehearse, he actually said 5 different names

"Darkness my old friend"... it's a good Simon & Garfunkel song that could help...

Interesting to see how JB is growing on you.

Too bad poor guy has a speech impediment.

Remember the draft conversations. Never saw Lind coming at 33OA .... wasn't on the radar that he be there. Remember the list we had of possible players that could fall?

It's called"The sound of silence".

And it starts out "Hello, darkness my old friend."

He was my top choice at 33. From the video, JB did say "speed and skill" that elimated Isaac ratcliffe and some other favourites.

Great you remembered the title. It's been a while. Song is soothing on the surface but a layered with deep meaning.

Wish I could phrase things better sometimes.

So which Canuck this season will be fun to watch lead us to some light?

Yeah...remember a draft day eve interview he had the saying... speed, skill and wingspan ....to accentuate player attributes they wanted.

That last one they went off script with on Palmu

IMO you totally want to use injuries as a reason to keep an extra prospect around. It's a huge bonus opportunity.

Time spent around the team, don't have to play every night so they can get used to the grind, string em out until world juniors etc.

If it doesn't happen early, well, send em down. No harm no foul.

Nice way to phrase it. My injury mention didn't come off as good.

So if OJ EARNS his spot he can learn to play getting rotated duty. That's if not in starting 6 originally. Thus, when injuries happen he might be ready for more. It worked for Stecher and Tree. Maybe OJ emerges too. If not, pretty easy to send him to CHL and have him work on what he's missing.

I don't think Dorsett will ever be 100% but will clear and play like you fear. He's a real life Super Dave Osborn...

Can't fix the Trumper even George F. Will and Michael Moore agree.

See Will's Washington Post article on: " A Dangerous Disability"

And Moore's first broadway play: "The Terms of MY Surrender"

Appears so. I like the Lind pick his stock did rise fast. Maybe not to the degree of Glass but it was good still. Nabbing EP & Lind was a great start.

He's had a tough time with processing the game at a high level. Not throwing him away but relying on him to step up is limiting.
- Nuck4U

he won the fastest skater on canucks and the hardest shot. Plus he's tough and knocks guys out

Having a roster spot on an injury prone D like the Canucks doesn't mean you are destined to be scratched. No one expected Stecher to play in the NHL last season. He was named best D on Canucks. Only option to find out if OJ has it is if he's kept in NHL. To do that he has to beat out a couple guys for a roster spot. He will earn it or he will go back to CHL.
- Nuck4U

was he? and by who?

Id say the best on the team was easily tryamkin

Gaunce is another player that can be beat out for a spot and waived to work on his game with Comets. No spots are guaranteed or given this season.
- Nuck4U

and july 1 signing 2 C's all but eliminates him from making the team. Doesnt look like he;s in the plans

You can't plan development based on the assumption that players will be injured. That is the worst idea I have heard in a long time.

"Oh hey, Del Zotto and Tanev will likely get hurt within the first 20 games, so let's have OJ sit out until they do so he can take over."

Sorry but that is why you have depth signings like Weircoth.

I think he'll surprise us all
