Well my guess is it happened pretty much in reaction to Radulov signing. Montreal's media simply faster.

I really liked Radulov.

- Scabeh

Either way it just looks bad and for the moment it's amusing haha.

For 2 million less and more points, you're welcome to take Bozak... I hear that you still need a 1C

JvR be a huge trade come TDL. Teams would def give a ransom for him
- weirdoh

JVR isn't a TDL deal. Very few hockey trades happen that day, and the Leafs seem to be going for it. Don't see them trading JVR for picks in the middle of a run.

Well they had very similar stats last year didn't they?

And Drouin is 22, it's not that presumptuous to expect him to keep improving.

- Scabeh

On the surface. Drouin had a higher % of his points on the PP, of which TBL's was fantastic, lower pts/60, corsi, FF, all while starting a high % of shifts in OFZ or NZone (albeit not by a bunch).

To say he's going to step in and produce like Radulov right away, in a different set of circumstances, I think is a little bit of a stretch. He could very well and he could grow into more than Radulov this year, but if that's where if you're looking to rely on a 22yo to put the puck in the net, it's not ideal. I'm not trying to be a Richard.

Oh I get what you're saying.

But "that's the plan" for the Habs because well... there a no other options.

No doubt in my mind that Drouin > Radulov, especially in the long term.

However the wild card is just how much Rads drove play for your team last season, really was worth so much more than his point total suggested (which obviously was still great).

Patches, Galchenyuk, pretty much everyone dipped every time they moved off a line with Rads. Big, big ask for Drouin to be that big a play driver right away.

I would put the Leafs Tampa Ottawa and possibly the Sabres ove the Habs this year

Benn - Seguin - Radulov

Spezza - Stage5Klinger

What a PP that will be, if they role with it.

Radulov.

five-year, $31.25-million contract.

I would have done that god dammit.

- Scabeh

First Habs don't have the cap space to sign both Markov and Dracula. Dracula may be good for a year, maybe even two, Five - I have serious doubts. He'll be homesick for Borscht, Stroganoff, Russian babes and vodka by the third year. I agree with you that Hemsky is a no risk signing. Does not change the fact that he is a piece of sh!t. Markov coming for $12 mil for two years. Start combing the b-leagues of the KHL for scoring.

Sens have done nothing to improve, they lost Methot and Karlsson will probably miss camp... all the underlying numbers show them as a prime regression candidate... not to mention Anderson always follows up a strong season with a sub par one.

They're more likely to be in the mix for 1OA than playoffs, IMO.

If MTL brings Markov back, they're fine. Drouin was a big add, and Alzner solidifies their bottom pairing.

No scoring, can see competing for eighth spot if Price stays healthy. They will be the only team in the NHL that will employ 3 or 4 d-men on the power play.

Reports say the Habs offered him the same contract.

But with Quebec taxes, he'd have made half the money.

6.25M a year in Texas buys a lot of house, guns, booze, hookers and blow.

Think of all that snow just across the border.

I'm not too worried either, we'll be fine.

It's more or less the same team that finished first in the Atlantic last year.

They'll be a playoff team again. Not favorites but they'll be playing in spring!
