Thing I really like about Marleau is that he can and will play LW and Center. The PK units might line up something like this for forwards
Moore/Hyman
Bozak/Kapanen or Komo
Marleau/Kadri
Last pairing I really like because either play can play the dot well. JVR is also a decent PKer and Brown played all situations Special Teams with the Marlies.

Asked a question and got an answer. But your info is erroneous. If you want to talk about that then go to Canucks thread. I am talking Leaf's here. |

Demers is an older vet that's solid but his contract isn't pretty. You know his NTC list? Heard he's against Canadian teams.
JVR would look good for Stars but what's there for Leaf's? Perhaps a D prospect? - Nuck4U
It was just to the Nucks. And come on. We all know why. |

You could be right. They likely talked to JVR and his agent to get a feel for what they wanted and perhaps decided it was more than they wanted to give. They then made other plans and we'll see a trade. Could be. - Thecakeisalie

MDZ, Gagner and Nilsson will help them go from 29th to 24th...why wouldn't Demers want to sign there |

Make playoffs interesting would be the push, not saying they win the cup, but would make things definitely more interesting or to go further, who knows. 2 year span to do whatever we want before the boys get paid, might as well go all out.
We still have about what, 7.5M+ LTIR cap space? Man i would love to push for kovalchuk to get in the mix, offense would be off the charts, not that it isnt already But i am sure leafs will be conservative about the remaining cap space in case bigger names for the next year appear in free agency - Matthewz1992_
Yeah bigger names may be up next season. If JT doesn't resign now he's likely headed there if not traded.
Get the allure of doing well in playoffs. So you see the rebuild as over and a window to go for it while kids on ELC's? |

Not exactly a destination team now. But that's how it works. Gonna be some tough times ahead. But its what we've been screaming for for years. Kinda like your Kings no? You guys seem like the Canucks of 2013. Time to rebuild it. Only, it took too many years for the Canucks to figure it out. Atleast you have 2 cups to plug your ears. |

I dont think its rebuild for the Kings. I think its just figuring out the proper retooling while you still have time. Kings still have a good 5 years while still having value in some of theyre players to trade to do rebuilding then. But who knows how it works out. |

You got his whole list...? It's more then one team. Why would he want to leave tax free zone Florida for pay through the nose BC. Don't blame him. |

Just stating that was the only team he declined to go to so far. That doesn't mean he wouldn't want to play in Canada. Which is what was suggested by the post. |

Esa Lindell would be an underrated catch, if you could get him out of DAL. But I think he's solidified his spot on the blueline now. If Honka struggles out of the gate, perhaps he could be had. |

Ya but hopefully you will reap the awards! ..but with benning? What the hell he just made the team better and he still tried to get a top 4 dman! He's taking you away from the 1st oa! Dahlin |

I wont say the rebuild is over, but if you think the leafs are coming in last place to draft first overall or in the top 10, i highly doubt you see that the way the team is constructed now. I still believe Toronto will keep their 1st rounders very tightly unless a trade comes up regarding a defender that they cant refuse. We have a ton of prospects upcoming and Liljgren was a nice addition which we really needed to help our pool of defensive prospects. I think were on the right track but at the same time i want them to go all out in the next 2 years and go for it. Which i believe is happening right now since we signed 3 veterans to short term deals. |
