That's like for the entire country of Norway

We did just invest in a NOK denominated deal a couple of months ago! Evry.

That's a big company by european standards for sure.

Yes, it is for our 'entire' country. 5.5M And the Worlds #1 fund

Trading Stepan for Deangelo and pick is far cry from rebuild. Not signing Shattenkirk is smart move. He'll be Useless by 3rd or 4th year of deal. For the critics of Deangelo and his 39 regular season games... Skjei had 7 before last season and we didn't sign Yandle.. and we're not replacing Step with older washed up players. Jan, I like Gagne as a smart signing for half of Steps salary... desharnais also is of interest. Maybe Lettieri makes roster as 4th center. Either way, we are far from rebuild. I think we're already a better team that finished season and Gorton not done. I still think we trade for a right D. Maybe if we sign more forward depth, gives us more trade assets. I'd like to see us take a chance on Yakupov

shattenkirk will "useless" by the 3rd or 4th year?
by that logic thornton & marleu are already retired

No

Anything from 25% up to ~50% at the moment. Gone down significantly last 15-20 years. For most ~30-35%.

Must say; most Americans have NO idea what's going on in Europe

Jan, having the job he has, knows this market very well though... I'm sure(?) that he would answer any questions you would have...

You know better for sure

There's a number of 'those kind of lists', and we're always in the top 1/3/5...

Swedes - nice girls, but that's it

Finns - loonatics everyone

I did actually hear something on draft day about Chytil being thought of as a possible top 4 pick if he were in next year's draft.

And if I think I might remember someone maybe saying something, it's a fact!

Another net minder signing that will be officially announced tomorrow.
Steve Mason signs with Winnipeg, who initially wanted Raanta as their #1 starter, and contacted Gorton on multiple occasions prior to the expansion draft to trade for him.

I've been a bad boy, 'RangerSaver'. I have actually been 'writing' most of the nigth (Norwegian time). Since, by your standards (although I'm not sure if you're qualified to do this in my language), I'm not qualified to write anything at all (?) - I have been a bad boy working all night. I should probably turn myself in - where do I do that? Can you help me, RangerSaver...PLEASE!!!

I'm pretty sure most of his daily activities include some form of drinking.

We better sign Shatty, the talk about his defense is a joke, compare his give away/takeaways with guys like Shea Weber and Doughty, it's not even close

Also I'm so unsure of the free agent Centers I think the smartest thing to do is reacquire Lindberg, I'm more comfortable with him than most of these guys, if he gets dealt to Pittsburgh it will be a disaster

You're actually not even joking, are you... Did a Norwegian sailor (frank) your mama or something? Last 2 times I thought it was just bad jokes. This is the third time. Enough is enough. Please explain or get the (frank) out of my sight...

Forget about it Tony. You're a great guy!

Hey, maybe this guy just made a bad and is a trooper...?
Let's hear what he says.

Going to bed soon - sober. And not likely I'm gonna start drinking alcohol in my sleep...

I would be more comfortable bringing back Brian Boyle as well as Lindberg, just in case Andersson does not make the Pro roster.
As far as Shatty, you know my opinion & reasons why he must be signed. Being a +17 career wise is not as if he will be on the ice for at least 1 goal per every game, as his critics try leading all to believe. If not signed, the holes on the right side of the back line alone, especially offensively, should then make Gorton fully rebuild instead, before wasting bigger money elsewhere, like on Hanzal, Marleau, or Thornton up front. The rosters since 2014, although better than this one as of one hour into free agency opening day, were still not good enough to win it all without having that Shatty type RH offensive d'man on the right side. Any imitation "try to be likes", as in Dan Boyle will not work.

"Trade Staal" is much easier said than done, being he is more damaged goods than Girardi was at times here as a beaten up warrior in action, especially with his shot blocking. That's another reason why I would have still bought the left handed shooting, Staal out at the net higher cost for the 1 year longer buyout period, than the right handed, Girardi, who I would have retained for now. His improved play late last season is the reason why he has drawn interest in being signed by a few teams thus far, heading into Day 1 of free agency.

ultimately it comes down to this

we need a right handed defenseman in the worst way to pair on one of top two pairs

we desperately need a kick in the butt on the powerplay

we have ample cap space

there is a guy available at noon today who fills these descriptions who just happened to grow up a Ranger fan, won't cost any assets to get him

opportunities like this to come around too often

Well put I'm with you. Sign Shatty get it done to day. We've been waiting years for a defenseman like him, get it done. I'd say 6.5/6 years.

Chytil dominated prospect camp. Very impressive for a 17 year old playing against kids 1-2 years older than him. He was almost too young to make this draft...if he was a little younger and was to be drafted next year, he could've been a top 3 pick considering he'd essentially have a full extra year to develop before his draft day.
- rangerdanger94

Yup -- I really like that pick!
