Wonder whether the Rangers are at least inquiring about Duchene. - Pete V
They may be, but in no way will they trade Skjei in part to acquire him. So the odds are near zero. |

Draisaitl. - JRR1285
And when due later, Draisaitl will seek at least $10M per season like Tavares. |

Even assuming that the Oilers wouldn't match, which they would, there would be real danger in signing him to a $10 million contract and giving up 4 first round draft picks. He's had one elite year playoung a ton with the best player to come into the league in a long long time. If he's only very good with out McDavid, rather than elite, that could be a cataclysmic move.
Disclaimer: I think the guy is a great player. |

I recall on many of Jan's blogs since their postseason had ended, with you saying in key, but not the exact words, that "Shatty is a disaster defensively", and "I want no part of Shatty", and the like.
See replies by Jim, I & others to those related of your's as well. All you wanted here was DUMBA...DUMBA...DUMBA.
That's what led you to say MUCH LATER ON, and only "a few pages back", after being convinced by Jan, Jim, I, and some others here, that it was the possible long 7 year term you THEN didn't like about him.
But all of your earlier posts were always in words as if Shatty for his entire career, were the second coming of the ROMAN HAMRLIK during only his very brief stay as a Ranger under Tortorella. - RangerSaver
He is, but my strongest opposition to him was the 7 years at the rumored 7+. I've always said well love it for the first few years then have to have the same discussions were having about Staal and Girardi. At 4 years I don't see that being a problem. I don't know y u love my posts so much though. It's pretty obvious ur love for jimbo though, which I find hysterical. |

The 4 first rounders as compensation hurts for making future trades if not using any or all them at all for themselves. But if they do not tie up about $10M in their goaltending after Hank, along with if they buyout Staal, and Nash's $7.8M being either gone, or reduced greatly if re-signed next summer, they would have the room for a non goalie commanding at least $10M. |

Shatty's being truthful after turning down higher "substantial" offers from other teams out there (as reported), including the not that far located distance away, N.J. Devils, rumored to be 7 years at $7M per season.
For accepting much less overall money, Shatty even said on an earlier live NHL Network extended interview today, in key, but not the exact words, that he "always wanted to be a Ranger since a KID, & he also "owed it to the ones who helped him to get in the NHL, and now they will be at MSG to watch him play". After the interview, Kevin Weekes said that he loved those particular spoken words.
So there was no way he likely heavily considered signing in chief for the Devils instead. - RangerSaver
If this is true that's amazing (For US). And had to irk the Devil brass. That is a ton of dough (considering the extra years too) to leave just to play for your favorite team growing up. You always hear about the home town discount & if ever that saying applied it is today. |

I agree with you on the earlier rumored term issue in key, as I had written since day 1, that a 5 year term at a max. of $5.5M to $6.5M per year would have been ideal, if he were to give a discount. So they paid slightly higher than that max. $6.5M, but reduced the term by 1 year.
I have nothing against you, and like your posts, with the exception of that other one involving Dumba. In addition, I also respect Jim as a member here since day 1 of this site. I hope to do the same with you, if you do likewise, unlike some prior posts, including just yesterday in one where you stated, "I don't read them any longer", (meaning my posts), as a reply to some other member. |

That would be sweet. Bring Nash back on a reasonable term and Tavares goes over a point a game and Nash hits 50 goals. |

Top 4 of McD-Shatty and Skjei-Smith is pretty damn good and mobile as hell
If the Rangers can find another top 9 center in a trade, I like their chances next year of making a run |
