In regards to him really wanting to be a Ranger, I believe it was former Rangers' (& now NY Giants') beat writer of the Daily News, in Pat Leonard, who first stated back 2 years ago that Shatty would be willing to play for less money overall, only for his hometown rooting interest Rangers, than if offered higher elsewhere. If it was Leonard, I don't recall if it was in a Daily News article, or if he spoke about it on some internet or XM radio hockey show, or even on a local NY tv sports show such as "SNY's "Sportsnite or a weekday evening talk show, NBC's "Miked Up" Sunday midnight show, etc.
Now they do still need 1 or 2 centers (depending on whether Andersson makes the roster), along with possibly some grit up front.

Just heard some Fortin quotes about center. He said their are some trade scenarios he's been discussing with teams and a FewFA available. He mentioned also about moving miller to center eventually.

Seems that a center will be coming soon. Phew. Hopefully a difference maker

Yea Gorton did say he has had trade discussions with teams about centers. Might not happen today but sounds like before the summer is over, the Rangers will make a trade for a center.
