Per bob McKenzie

3 years gagner. 2 years del zotto and nilsson

Van looking at pirri, burmistrov as well.

- Codes1087

MDZ & Nilsson...good, if reasonable terms. Prefer not Gagner.
Did BMac actually said that this was happening, though? Twitter feed is only suggestive...

Replying to @TSNBobMcKenzie
So it's all well and good to say VAN will give Sam Gagner three years or Michael Del Zotto two years and sign G Anders Nilsson, too...

...but I do worry with sooo many deals "potentially" done that one or two of them find a way to get undone. Devil is always in the details.

Not arguing his value but would Canucks be a better team if they had 2 centers better than Horvat or one?

If we draft Tkachuk next year would we have two better prospects than BOHO?

- VANTEL

Oh I totally agree we would be better with Bo at 3C I just think it's going to be very tough to do. Once we lock up Bo long-term I think we'll see some pretty big upside from the kid IMO.

I'd source it if I could remember the article but it stuck as a reason why JB would be interested in Gagner. Personally I 'd rather they not give a pay day to Gagner and give a show me to Grigo. But if their thinking is they want a stop gap buffer to Hank retiring and developing their prospects I get why given the options out there.

I like Grigorenko more than Gagner personally for a 4C, mostly because Gagner will likely require too many years to sign IMO.

Gagner is definitely not a stop gap. If he is smart he signs with a team that he can be a specialty player not a guys who is depended upon to shelter the kids.

Look at the size of Brassard on the far right.

Daniel Wagner / Vancouver courier, yesterday... Gagner was in town to meet with the Canucks on Wednesday

He does a pro / con assessment and compares Gagner favourably to Sutter, suggests he could shelter EP when the Sedins retire

Nice share. Picture says it all with Gunnersson as the other bookend. Haven't seen a draft class like that by Canucks in any memory and it goes back decades

Thanks for getting that up. You can tell Nighthawk he should stick to EK rumors with his skepticism and Codes fishing for trouble will be satisfied.

Anyway, we have no control what happens. Like I said rather they take a flyer on Grigo and maybe they still do. Guess they are trying to stay "competitive" in the rebuild to develop guys thinking Gagner can help PP now and fill in for C next season.

If i want comedy i'll watch it. EK is a buffoon i bother not with.
Do i care what an off beat reporter claims what Gagner is? Nope
Show me contract to Grigo? Show him the door to the KHL i will.

Gagner will get PP time for sure.
Uncertainty if Hank is resigned is apparent.
Stop gap only to stop influx of lousy AHL players from Utica.
Smegma Chaput Gaunce r all disposable IMO
That said we cannot take out the trash when we still can use trash lol

Lots of pain to come but the environment must still be competitive.
Wins & losses don't matter but only if a doormat every game does matter.
Thats all we r doing for now is tread water til prospects can develop & push for a roster spot. Nothing is to be handed to anyone for a few years to come.

completely agree. buying time...a couple of years for the kids to develop. I thought that the rebuild actually started with the trades for Dahlen and Goldobi. 3 years away from being 3 years away??
