Read it was pre-arranged and done prior to draft so he'd be ready for main camp not development camp. Apparently was part of first injury misdiagnosed not to do the other side. There is some info you can check out here in the Flyer's blog.

Guess with one way contract he's more waiver proof. Though Rodin has a shot it might be best for his recovery and finding his game if he starts with the Comets. We shall see if he's ready by camp.
