Hischier CAN be sent down. He was on loan from Swiss team.
- Devils9503

Not true. Andrew Gross asked for clarification from the Devils and they said he cannot be sent down. His deal must have expired with his Swiss team prior to him going to Halifax.

Beau Bennett really coming down to the wire.. I didn't complain at the time because I assumed they had something worked out.. if Shero lets him walk just to save a couple hundred thousand (when we have $28M in cap room), I will be very unhappy.

Its obviously not about $$ because NJ has so much space. Its Bennett taking the spot of someone that potentially can benefit the Devils more. Or if Bennett asking for more than what Shero thinks he's worth. I hope Shero has a bit of Lou in him, so he doesn't overspend on people that aren't that good. I.E., Clarkson is just one example. But if they both are on the same page with the $$ I'm sure it'll get done.

What do you consider overpaying for Beau Bennett? $3 million for 3 years? Please. Pay him. He had his first healthy year and still has a ton of potential.

are you crazy! beau needs to go he is trash forget his advanced stats look at the basic ones. and soneone said to play hall wtih mcloed and wood? Miles wood is a 4th liner and a tweener on most teams. anyway it looks like we will have 6 rookies playing forward this year. also resigning kinks I think is a waste just bring up wedgewood. it's going to be a quiet day for us tomorrow hopefully. and I wouldn't give a German player 9mill per season nor would I have drafted a Swiss born player 1st overall

I'm not sure. But considering I'm not paying him because he stayed healthy I would base it off points and not potential. Seeing as though he never reached 20 pts (I know of the injuries)I'd give him one year at one million. Prove you are healthy and good. I'm so tired of gms paying so much money based off hype, potential or a fluke good year. If I was gm of the Devils it'd be a boring low scoring team hahaha.

If $ was the problem with Bennett he wold have been qualified to have upper hand in negotiations. Wasn't qualified cold mean walking away from him or signing him for less than the qualifying offer.

Alright. 8 goals for 19 points isn't exactly Hart worthy, but think about it. I'd wager he was playing very carefully last year, not to mention playing, at best, 3rd line on a very bad team. Can you really, honestly, say you'd prefer Noesen or JJ in his place? He could potentially get better.

So you don't want Wood either? You realize you do need to fill the roster with some people, right? I think he's a perfect bottom 6 player. Game breaking speed and can provide energy. He's a raw talent.

I'd let Wedgewood actually play for the first time in 2017 before trusting him to play backup, but that's just me.

This is the exact mentality that made us sign Clowe, Cammaleri and Havlat.

Its bad off-season to be swimming in cap space. What few attractive forwards there are going to be PAID, only because that's all there is. Somebody is going to be Vanek $6M. Shatty's term is going to be nutty.

How's it going jersey? Looking forward to watching Nico do his thing. Kids gonna be an absolute stud, maybe sign a hanzel/Boyle type to take the pressure off a little bit. Why not even make a play for duchene?

Eh. I'll pass on all 3. Duchene costs too much.

I'm definitely a fan of Chayka though. He's making all the moves I wish the Devils did. Big fan of Keller's.

Rolston, hands down the worst contract NJ has ever had on the books.

let him go to NY so we can watch another big signing fail. let him go. my feelings won't be hurt.

... have my court summons for being unable to provide documentation of my insurance at a DUI checkpoint to thank for my hurt feelings tonight. asinine. they ask if i could pull up the insurance on my phone. I show them my phone, which isn't a smartphone. .. and poof, court summons. RIIIIIIdiculous. I love burning money for no reason.

So I'll love watching NY burn the money and still not win the Cup. All I have left is to watch others suffer.

Duchene is not worth the price. Hanzal and Boyle suck too.

If the Devils sign X player, it might make Y player expendable for a big deal...

Boyle is fine as a 4th line center. Hanzal is fine as a 2C, despite his disastrous stint with the Wild. But center is the last of this team's worries. They should probably add a good 4th line center, but it's something you handle after you fix everything else.

Henrique, Blandisi, McLeod, Zacha, Hischier are all players that may or may not play center this year. Zajac will for sure.

Depending on which way Ray goes today, we may need to start a support group.

Sure why not. Give wood another chance. I don't think he has the skills to stick in this league tho.

Talked to Shattenkirk camp. He hasn't decided where he will sign yet, reports otherwise are premature.
