Well I mean if he misses rookie camp, Hischier is sure to have the better career.

What if Shero is going to offer sheet Draistitel (Edm). 8 years at around 9-10 million? Granted they'd lose 3 1st rd draft picks but to get a player like that could make this franchise. Not sure Edm could afford to match after pending McDavid contract.

I've never watched him play, is he that good that he's worth that much or does it help him playing with mcdavid.

He's good, but unless he's McDavid, it's not worth throwing Sydney Crosby money and losing 3 first round picks for anyone.

He split time on McDavids wing and 2C, played very well away from McDavid in the playoffs.

If the Devs are going to offer sheet a RFA it should be Parayko from St. Louis not Draisaital. Need more help on D.

Facing 2nd pair D 100% of the time might've had a hand in that.

My hope is Nico develops into at least Draisaitl.. and maybe Nolan turns into Nuge. That's a bit of an exaggeration, but what I imagined their projections to be. fingers crossed.

I looked it up earlier. The Devils could offer up to 9.8mil and still only give up 2 1st, a 2nd, and a 3rd.

The more prudent move is to offer trades to teams that can't afford thei RFAs. Don't want to burn bridges, that's why you never see offer sheets.

Unless there's some kind of trade no one is talking about I'm fully prepared for

Greene-Lovejoy
Moore-Severson
Mueller-Santini

With Prout and Helgeson as the extras.

Granlund and NINO are the guys I'd target.

The kid has amazing hockey sense. Calm like Neids with the puck. I remember his draft and everyone hailed his smarts. He's a first liner on any team regardless of McDavid. Oilers sent him down when he had a season like Zacha, he came back and dominated after Ahl stint.

i'm in a negative hockey-mood today. would it have been possible for Zacha to play in the minors last year? what about McLeod and Hischier this year?

call me crazy, but I'd rather these guys develop, play against men, and hopefully dominate and help lead their AHL team to wins for a bit down there, rather than play on a losing team in the NHL.

call me crazy, what do i know.

Thats what Im saying, Devils shouldn't be afraid to send Zacha down in case he gets butt hurt. But ya, you are crazy.

I don't actually think anyone is getting an offer sheet, I was just saying if we're going to throw out wild ways to make the team better, why not go for a position we actually need.

Don't really understand why other sports have no problem going after each others RFAs but hockey GMS all want to be buddies.

Zacha can be sent down this Year I think, couldn't last Year. Hischier and McLeod both have to go back to juniors if they don't stay with the team.

Honestly though, who does Zacha have to beat out to not make the devils. He'd have to have one of the worst training camps in history to get sent to the AHL

so it is what it is then. Hischier, McLeod, and Zacha will all be Devils next year. It's kind of scary, kind of sad, kind of exciting. Hopefully we settle on it being exciting by the All-Star break..

Hischier CAN be sent down. He was on loan from Swiss team.
