Kane $6 million cap hit

that's about $14 million more than they make now total. Leaving the Sabres with $5 million. Not to mention Lehner's deal will probably be a little more than his qualifying offer, then the Johnson contract.

No reason to buyout Gorges at all

I would imagine that both Pomenville and Moulson will not be resigned, let alone resigned at the 5+ million price tags. So in your theory, where you said within a couple of years, theres an extra 10.4 million

Pomminville will only have 1 year left, so will Moulson, and Bogo if still here would probably be bought out or if he is useful probably traded
