STL players said it but it didn't translate over to Washington. I never have high expectations for a player after a trade trying to learn a new system in like 15 games. His ice time diminished HARD for WSH in the playoffs I read.

Like I said... I don't lose sleep over the budget. If Bots thinks he can help us win.. then do it. Sign him. It's their cap.... not my bank account.

He's a vast improvement over giving ice time to Gorges and Falk/Fedun.

Do we want a $7 million per RHD in Shatty for "free" or to give up assets for a LHD in Scandella? Tough choice. I guess there is no guarantee on Shatty, and a trade makes sure we get Scandella. When does the buyout window close today? I would guess we buyout Gorges if we add a top-3 guy, no?

I think they split Shattenkirk and Risto up but those 6 there are a huge improvement over the 6 from last year
