That Ryan Murphy, Lack trade was a great one for the Flames. I really wish the Rangers had done that. another young RHD and a backup goalie all in one for less than $2M in cap! Murphy is a RFA next year so you still retain his rights. looks like the Flames gave up almost nothing.

I still think Shatty makes too much sense for the Rangers, just hope the term is livable.

I wonder if we're looking at the wrong areas for who the Rangers go after. Does anyone know if any drafted college kids don't plan to sign that become UFAs in August? I don't follow picks/college so I'm not sure but something tells me they have someone waiting in the wings... i hope

Rangers already signed Neal Pionk, I think thats their big free agent college signing this year

Both players have their issues. Lack hasn't been the same goalie for several years while Murphy has yet to pan out. But the cost to Calgary in terms of players/picks and cap hit was extremely worthwhile. Plus, if Lack rebounds, he can be moved at the deadline if necessary by Calgary,
