Bring in Nail and put him with Buch. Maybe they ignite each other

We should be targeting Yakupov or Grigorenko. Not Pouliot or (frank)ing Scott Hartnell.

I'm all for Yakupov. Better the late bust bargain basement version then never.

This year's Yakupov is basically what Pouilot was years ago -- A reclamation project.

Hartnell would be nice on the 4th line. Pouliot as a 2nd option. Bonino is meh.
- tomburton99

Hey we agree on all 3 points.

And Bonino looks like Al Queda anyway.

Yup on Yak and Grig. I wouldn't mind Bonino and wouldn't mind Hartnell on a 1 or 2 year deal. He death with some serious back issues last year, I remember 1 of the games against the Rangers he had to leave bc of it. If that's fixed I wouldn't mind giving him a shot.

Grigorenko might be my #1 priority Saturday. Kid is still young only 23. Has good size, 6'3 210 lbs described as a smooth skater. Probably get him cheap, hope he can be our 3c and if not put him as our 4c.

I think that signing any of the three mentioned players: Bonino, Pouliot, or Hartnell will be a departure from what Gorton has been doing lately. That is, we have been getting younger. None of these guys excite me. I'd rather see our own Nieves, Gropp, or Jensen get a shot on minimum contracts. Or if in-house doesnt work, try Yakupov, Grigorenko, or Holland on "show me" deals like Grabner got.

Hartnell could be interesting if his back is healed. 3 straight 20 goal seasons with 100+ PIM. Last year 13 goals with 63 PIM. I wouldn't mind him on a 1 or 2 year deal. I'm not sure I'm excited about Boo Jensen or Gropp. I think the top 2 targets should be Grigorenko and Bonino(depending on what he wants).

I wonder how expensive Yakupov could be...every GM in the league is going to want to sign a 23 year old former 1st overall as a reclamation project for cheap and that could start a little auction

We do have the cap space to make a decent offer. No great FA's out there, but could get a couple guys that could turn into bargains.

What do you think it would take? 2.5mm for a year? Maybe a team like buffalo offers 6mm over 2 years.

No clue, but the guy has gone down hill quick. IMO a confidence issue combined with bad coaching. His rookie year he was good, then it all went downhill.

I don't see us bringing in any wingers really tho. It's always good to have depth, but they also shouldn't prevent someone like Buch playing every game. Grigerenko can play center so he makes the most sense of these kind of prove it deals we're talking about

There is always those handful of UFAs every year they get crazy money and I feel like Williams will. Bonino and Hanzal too

Yakupov would be if we'd traded someone, like Miller for defensive help. Grigorenko I think should be our #1 target with Bonino #2 depending on the years and $$.

Sounds like the Swedish kid got a good shot at a roster spot.
Guessing he would like his dad's old #24...

Could go the ol' move a winger to center route. Miller was drafted a center.
