It's always been July 1st at noon. They've been able to negotiate with guys. Nothing can be announced officially until tomorrow after 12 though. Not sure where the 7th comes into play here.

People longed for a superstar, we get a superstar but then don't want to pay a superstar. Sometimes I feel people would rather go back to the days where we had one of the best prospect pools, routinely contended for 7th, 8th, 9th place and super stingy on cap spending.

I highly doubt Botts gives him that. If that's what Sam is looking for, he may need to sign something shorter term at like 4 and then prove he's worth more than that.

I like Reinhart, but no way do I think he's worth 7 right now.
