I think that is the defense the Bruins and the Pens threw out there against the Sens.
But Ottawa fans think their team will go further next year
Oh, and Chabot is the best player not in the NHL. - Aetherial
A fan named Gillian argued that the Sens are super smart because they make amazing trades like "Rundlbad for Turris." Mr. Mendes and some douche named Leeeversache or something never mentioned that they acquired Rundblad by giving up their first rounder to St. Louis who saw Tarasenko falling and nabbed him... |

The fact that Shea Weber is in there somewhere makes it impossible.
He's amazing, even in a wheelchair. - Scabeh
That is true.
My only concern with Weber is pretty much what you said, age.
He was not the same player in the second half that he was in the first half. He looked more like the guy who had slowed down a lot, that he showed in Nashville. |

Wow.
That was a bad turn of events.
Even worse than the Bobby Ryan or ZibibbyBabbyJihad trades. |

How do you feel about the Leafs getting Duchene instead of the Habs trading extremely poor mans Seguin for him? - markmark
As I've mentionned yesterday, with Colorado reportedly looking for defense, I don't see the Leafs as a "fit" for being a trading partner.
But hey, Duchene is in my keeper's league and he'd get plenty of points in Toronto! |

I feel like I'm being argumentative, and I guess I am. But I just don't see the sell of slow guys on the cusp of _38_ with a fast team largely under 24. They fit in SJ because they have a very deliberate pace to the their game.
1. This is a fallacious argument. It's like saying Timoshov is the same age as McDavid so he should be as good. Different people develop and physically deteriorate at different rates.
2. Some people get even slower. Remember Jason Allison? I think Joe is entering that territory. He still got 50 points, so we'll see. But I wouldn't gamble on him not depreciating even more.
3. The older you get, the longer and harder it is to recover properly and fully - especially without it being a detriment to the recovery process itself.
4. This, I'd agree with. We could compare Bozak to Thornton. And until last year, Thornton would have beaten the crap out of Bozak in every comparison except maybe faceoffs.
5. I don't know. I didn't copy the other thread, so I don't know want your comment refers to. Therefore I am totally going to say maybe.
6. He is definitely a benefit on the PP. But with where (I think) his depreciating skills are, I think he'd be a detriment in most other ways. - Monkeypunk
Ya he's not coming! Nor is anyone else! So if you guys enjoyed the roster from last year then great! Cause its going to be the same minus boyle! |

I don't know, his production did slow down in the 2nd half but he looked good in the playoffs. (that week rest at the end of the year probably helped too).
Then again Habs had a very tough time at the end of Therrien's tenure as coach so the drop in play/production could also be caused by this.
Either way, he's the least of my worries going into next season.... he needs a partner on that first pairing. And aside from Markov (who's even older) there are no options on the UFA market on that left side worth mentionning. (Alzner ain't that guy) |

There's no trade happening between those two that wouldn't be somewhat lateral.....don't see it. Moreover, I keep reading that the Avs could/should trade Tyson Barrie? Boy am I confused. |
