So just throwing it out there... we should offer sheet Draisaitl 7 years 8 million per.

Yeah I know i'm being harsh on the kid, but really, i don't know how much more of a chance you can give him. i think any team could argue after 70 games and 0 goals, its time to let someone else have a go.

I mean you have Labate, Zalewski, Rendulic, Grenier, Valk, hell even Archibald, none of them have been given more than 10-15 games, I'd think that a few of these guys could score more than once in a season, given the opportunity.

Then you have guys like Boucher, Chaput, Goldy, Rodin, Molino all knocking on the 4th lines door. I guess i think I've seen enough of Gaunce and i'd be happy with seeing someone else get the same shot as he's had. I think that's fair. Stunted is probably the wrong word, but 0 goals in 70 games, it is what it is.... #McCann

If Grigorenko can be signed would prefer over Chaput and Guance to start 4LC. Same goes for Weal if signed then Megna guaranteed waived. In new NHL both the 3rd & 4th lines should be capable of scoring.

Agree we don't need to give Gagner a pay day when Boucher and Rodin could do same and far cheaper.

As for Goldy he's either Comet bound or pushing for a spot over BB.

That leaves JV who should be ready this season and would be an improvement over Skille and DD.

We know LE & Granlund will fill top 6. So that would allow Weal with Sutter and prospect. Boucher & JV on 4th with preferably Grigo 4LC.

The above changes just keeps pace with the upgrades the other teams are making. It helps so all games aren't hopeless. This allows Green to rotate farm boys on call ups for development and not thrashings.

Not sure I am down with losing two 1st round picks, one 2nd round pick, and one 3rd round pick for that, plus a 8 mill cap hit.

Draisaitl is a 1st line center. Bo is a number 2 center. The future is now build around those two centers. Boom

VAN cant afford 4 first round picks

But sign him for 9.380, and its 2 firsts, a second and a third..

- WhiteLie

Still wouldn't.
Rebuilding teams cannot afford OSs.
A team like Toronto maybe could. Or Mtl or something.
Not Van.

I really don't think they need to bring any forwards in at all. A Dman and a G for depth. Roll with the forwards we have and develop the poop out of them.
- boonerbuck

A couple forwards rid you of drags like Megna, Chaput & Skille... makes even one of Guance and DD waivable or extra forward.

But agree that part two of need would be one of the goalies out there in play. As for D there are a couple reclamation projects and or waiver options that will materialize for 6/7 spot. Really believe from interviews that JB is pushing for OJ to get his feet wet with Guddy

Might as well add another million to his AAV to ensure you put Oil in a bind if they still want him and match.

Its tough to justify the trade from VAN's perspective as they are more than a 1C away, but at the same time 2 firsts, a second and a third is worth much less than LD... I hope someone goes for it

I think Edm would happily match that one.
I don't think Drai would even sign it.
I bet ya he gets 9 + from Edm .

Only Arizona will be worse than the Canucks next season.
Right in line for another 5 OA pick next draft.

I think Colorado and Vegas will be way worse than us...agree on a top 6 pick

Hard to say with Col. I expect they'll make a few moves before the start of the season.

According to Detroit head of Amateur scouting, Tyler Wright, they will be having a change of direction. If a prospect is mentally and physically ready they will be trying them at the nhl level.
No longer are they going to let players stew in the Minors anymore.
Seems to be the way of the league nowadays. Speed skill and mental toughness. I expect to see a lot more 20 year olds entering NHL in the next couple seasons.

- Reubenkincade

Yup time people get with the program and stop knocking prospects earning a spot. That plus cap realities and what rebuilding teams now do to develop their new core.

You think Rasmussen will get a 9 game try out there by that declaration?

Haven't we been saying that about Sakic for over a year? The guy is like Gillis at the end of his tenure. He knows he has one more bad move before he is fired

Ari got a lot better by addition by subtraction with Stepan/Raanta/Hjarmalsson in and Doan/Vrbata/Murphy/smith out. They will be a better team next year, likely better than Vancouver as they have a better top d line and top6.

LVG will likely be worse. Maybe Colorado, but a lot can happen in the next month for them and Mac/rantanen is a pretty solid to be building around. 48 points though... they will probably suck again. Same with NJ. LA might continue their downward trend. Honestly though, LV is probably the only team on paper we are better than, it's pretty pathetic.
